Job Overview:
The Data API Architect is responsible for initiating and delivering a contemporary enterprise data architecture strategy and roadmap that aligns and supports each of the LPL's business unit strategies. This includes driving the Enterprise Data Mesh/Fabric architecture and roadmap, evaluate and assess existing legacy data assets with an eye towards modernization and simplification.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain an aspirational data architectural road map for the enterprise and provide architectural direction and oversight on the initiatives in enterprise data and analytics.
Identify core common data shared across the enterprise and participate in enterprise wide efforts to reach common understanding of that data.
Includes helping establish API organizations, API development methodology and selection of API technology components including API gateway
Defining the technical API roadmap, strategy and solution, evolution from SOA to APIs
Lead API design driven by business requirements
Lead a team of API developers in delivering large and complex API solutions

Requirements:
Thought leader with 10+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering and Governance. Lead data architecture initiatives for many value streams (e.g., Agile/SAFe Release Train).
5+ years of experience in APIs, microservice, and integration concepts and technologies, such as REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, message queues, and integration patterns/frameworks
5+ years of experience in Kafka, and streaming solutions
Experience building production-hardened data applications, with consideration for security, performance, scalability, reliability, and repeatability.
Core Competencies:
Proficiency in defining current and future state Data Architecture models
Knowledge of cloud data platforms AWS (Primary) and Azure (Secondary)
Experience and expertise designing, implementing or maintaining the following: Data Mesh Architecture, micro-services and Domain Driven Design (DDD), Data Ops, Data Lake and Data Lakehouse
Experience in migrating monolith on-prem applications to microservices cloud applications.
Excellent communication skills that translate business problems in technical solutions
Consult with customers to solve business problems by adapting current technology and/or capitalizing on emerging technology for competitive advantage to meet the strategic objectives
Conduct demonstrations and presentations to executive management of prototypes and proof-of-concepts.
Understanding of agile methods (SAFe) and processes, and capability of supporting agile product teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural debt
Preferences:
More than 5+ years of experience in designing and building API proxies, mashups, rate limiting, security, analytics, monetization and developer portals using API management software (like Apigee, Boomi, Mulesoft)
Expertise in designing data canonical models
Experience with enterprise integration architecture
Experience architecting event-driven distributed systems using Kafka
Significant experience in BFSI and specifically the financial advisory industry
Solid understanding of financial system security requirements and standards compliance

Pay Range:
$119,880-$179,820/yearThe salary range is dependent on a number of factors, including the applicant’s skill, experience, and work location.Why LPL?
