Sr Development Lead - Advisor Compensation Systems

Job Description:

The Development Lead, Advisor Compensation Systems is responsible for hands on development and maintenance of mission critical advisor compensation systems.  The incumbent also leads large development initiatives, leveraging both on and off shore developers, for the on time and successful implementation of strategic enhancements to critical systems.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build positive relationships with key technology and business partners to develop “quality” mission critical technical solutions
  • Responsible for full application life-cycle management of commission applications and platforms including analysis & design, development and operational support.
  • Provide technical thought leadership and mentorship to other team members for overall team growth and success.
  • Contribute towards departmental technical strategy, roadmap planning and effort prioritization
  • Think outside the box to provide innovative solutions that solve complex business problems


Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or a related field
  • 2+ years as a technical lead over a highly distributed team
  • 5+ years working in a highly matrixed, enterprise scale organizational environment
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience in a diverse set of technology disciplines
  • 3+ years implementing domain focused distributed architectures that involve large-scale data sets
  • 2+ years of financial services/brokerage firm experience required


Skills and Knowledge:

  • 5+ years of software engineering skills on a variety of technologies, including:
    • SQL (preferably Oracle)
    • Java and/or .NET
    • JavaScript Web Application Frameworks (Angular, Node, React)
  • Experience utilizing mature software engineering practices such as unit testing and code reviews
  • Experience with DevOps processes and technologies
  • Experience working within both Agile and Waterfall environments
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences
