The Investment Product Management team within LPL’s Wealth Management Solutions (WMS) group is responsible for delivering a highly competitive set of investment solutions. The team’s goal from an investment product management perspective is to enhance our clients’ experience and ability to grow and to enhance our firm’s economic and risk profiles. Seeking an Alternative Investment Diligence Analyst to join the WMS group. As part of the diligence team within WMS, this role is responsible for the sourcing and review of illiquid alternative products for the LPL platform, with an emphasis real estate and Delaware Statutory Trust / 1031 exchange products. The role will involve collaboration with multiple internal groups and require strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills, as well as the ability to work within tight deadlines. This individual is responsible for the initial diligence and ongoing oversight of approved alternative investment managers available for use by LPL Financial advisors. Products in this area include non-traded real estate products, business development companies, closed-end/interval funds, private equity, hedge funds, and other similar products. This role will focus on the review of real estate products in the DST/1031 Exchange space. The ideal candidate will have a passion for investing and tireless intellectual curiosity regarding markets, managers, and investments of all types. The successful candidate will have a history of high performance and the ability to take initiative and follow through on projects independently as well as work as a leader of a team. The right candidate will demonstrate self-motivation, high-energy, tenacity, perseverance, attention to detail, and a passion for investing.
Presentations to LPL’s Implementation and Product Review Committees
Assist in the onboarding of new products by coordinating with sponsor firms and various internal groups including Operations, Compliance, Legal, and Product Risk Management
Creation of training and education material to benefit advisors and advisor-facing personnel on 1031 product
Expand coverage areas within Alternatives as need arises
Contribute to WMS team projects including product screening and sourcing
What are we looking for?

Minimum 3 years of experience performing due diligence and/or oversight on illiquid alternative investment products, ideally with exposure to real estate-based and 1031 products
5-10 years of experience in the financial services industry, ideally at a broker/dealer
A CFA designation and/or MBA is preferred
FINRA Series 7 and 66 license required (either have or be willing to obtain soon after hiring)
Ability to think creatively about investments including due diligence, managers, and the markets in which they invest
Solid analytical skills, good judgment, and a high tolerance for change
A passion for investing and a dedication to providing superior research
Ability to drive to results while being able to re-prioritize as needed and meet hard deadlines
Ability to cogently communicate research and investment content both orally and written to different audiences, including investment managers, advisors, executive management, and clients
