Analyst, Advanced Analytics

We are currently looking to hire an Analyst, Advanced Analytics within the CLR Business Management department, which is a part of LPL’s Compliance Legal and Risk (CLR) organization. This role requires data analytics capabilities and an understanding of business management to support the CLR Organization and the Chief of Staff. The analyst will serve as part of an existing team and will be tasked with working with all levels of staff in the various divisions within the CLR organization.  

This position requires excellent data, communication and writing skills, and the ability to quickly develop a working knowledge of the CLR organization. The ability to effectively interact with  all levels of staff including senior and executive management, as well as experience working within a broker/dealer environment.


  • Creation of Dashboards – as per guidance from leadership, consult with business units and develop dashboards that display data in ways to foster understanding and action.The target audience will be VP and SVP members of the Compliance, Legal and Risk organization within LPL.

  • Continuously Improve Dashboards – insight needs will be evolving, this role will partner with key stakeholders and internal customers to progressively enhance dashboards in terms of the data and analytics provided and to improve the user-experience

  • Support User Education – advancing systems and workflows (from Excel to Tableau, for example) will mean different ways of interacting with analytical products for our colleagues, this role will help our team and internal customers to better access, understand, and take advantage of the dashboards developed

  • Challenge our Ways of Working – stay current on Tableau capabilities and types of analytics or visual representations and use this knowledge to encourage ways to better automate and display our analytical efforts

  • Manage Special Projects and Ad Hoc Requests – provide support as needed to data requests and custom needs as well as take on project roles related to business management analytics

What are we looking for?

  • 2+ years previous experience in analytics/data analysis
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Data Analytics or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent analytics capabilities, decision making and problem solving skills.
  • Team player who is comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Ability to interact confidently with senior management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Balance multiple projects and other responsibilities
  • Highly proficient with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Previous experience with Tableau strongly preferred


  • Working knowledge of SQL
  • Data mining experience
  • Familiarity with Alteryx or Tableau Prep
  • Previous experience with Microsoft Sharepoint
