AVP, Business Solutions Enablement Project Manager
Apply Job ID: R-012475 Date posted: 02/21/2021 Primary Location CA-San Diego Other Locations SC-Fort MillLPL’s Business Solutions (https://www.lplbusinesssolutions.com/) is seeking a passionate and driven Enablement Project Manager AVP who will be responsible for the ownership of, enablement, and implementation of complex LPL Business Solutions projects, and will work with all levels of staff in the various business units within LPL Financial including Technology, Product, Strategy, Compliance and Legal. Integration requires the coordination and/or production of all of the training, communications, and resources necessary for each solution's field/practitioners that are the customer's front-line to implement new things sustainably. Ongoing planning, tracking, and executing projects of varying scale and complexity require a high degree of skill in cross-functional collaboration, communication, and leadership, which you will be accountable for delivering. You should be comfortable with all aspects and mechanics of the project delivery lifecycle from pre-initiation through the closure and possess a strong ability to consolidate inputs. Business needs to inform and communicate target road maps, work breakdown, governance, milestones, and timelines through the project's life.
The job requires regular interaction with senior inter/cross-departmental leadership, as well as executive leadership. Having the experience, presence, and poise to command respect and trust of senior management and other highly driven and independent professionals is a must.
Essential Job Requirements:
Project Management
Lead rollout of 4-8 integration projects, including workstreams, training, technology, and the development of project plans, project documentation, adoption, and rollout schedules
Take projects that are near completion of the strategy/design phase and collaborate with Strategy/Product Development and Execution/Delivery organizations to plan, organize and operationalize the design to full implementation
Completes ad-hoc assignments that assist in the development and implementation of LPL Business Solution strategies such as advisor retention, value delivery, and profitability efforts
Establish and track success criteria and metrics for the program, enabling predictable value delivery
Develop strong business relationships across LPL Business Solutions to enable a mutual understanding of project scope, risks, and opportunities achieving close alignment with business needs
Select, organize, and lead project teams and establish clear roles, responsibilities, and lines of communication
Provide leadership to cross-functional teams while maintaining responsibility for delivering defined project outputs on time and that meet project quality criteria
Keep management and key stakeholders well-informed on a timely basis on project progress, status, and/or concerns for each assignment ensuring that client expectations and satisfaction are met or exceeded
Subject Matter Expert
Become a Subject Matter Expert on LPL Business Solutions to be a proxy for Delivery and speak to what needs to happen to engineer a smooth integration
Qualifications:
Strong talent management skills by way of teaching and sharing knowledge to build capabilities across teams
Strong project management background with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks at any given point
Critical thinking with the ability to identify and solve problems within the target scope, while having the foresight to see beyond the initial problem, preparing for potential downstream impacts
Thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high tolerance for ambiguity
Must have experience working on high-impact large scale projects
Strong industry acumen, self-starter, and the ability to work with minimal supervision
Strong communication skills a must – verbal and written
Ability to work in a team environment, motivate team members, and influence the behavior of others
Advanced interpersonal and behavioral skills, including team and individual leadership, conflict resolution, negotiation, influencing and delegating
Highly capable in Excel, Word, MS Project and Smartsheet
Advanced knowledge and storytelling ability with PowerPoint for executive-level communication
Education and Experience
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor’s degree
Minimum Experience Required: 5+ years of experience in project management related roles with a broker-dealer, RIA, investment, or financial services firm (preferred)
PMP Certification (preferred)
