Job Overview:

The Product Experience (PX) team at LPL Financial is looking for an extremely talented AVP Design Operations (DesignOps) Lead to join our PX Operations group. The ideal candidate will be passionate about design operations, skilled at creating processes, and interested in establishing best practices. The candidate will be passionate about product experience and have previously been a product or user experience designer. The AVP will advocate for users and embrace human-centered principles and will be collaborative, flexible, and start-up minded.

Responsibilities:

  • You will drive for efficiency gains across all existing and net new processes.
  • You will help the PX Design team continue to grow by adding talent, adjusting team structure, managing onboarding, and providing new hire trainings.
  • You will own the design intake process; team capacity, designer allocations, etc.
  • You will help manage metrics, create artifacts, and socialize PX Design team reporting.
  • You will anticipate risks, articulate concerns, and remove blockers for keeping design efforts on track.
  • You will help establish and maintain a centralized library of PX Design artifacts; processes, templates, files, best practices, reports, etc.
  • You will assess PX Design team tools, navigate net new and/or updated tools or subscriptions through the firm's procurement steps, and ensure all are regularly updated and remain in compliance with firm policies.
  • You will maintain 3rd party vendor relationships, procure, and manage all team contracts; subscriptions, licenses, resources, etc.
  • You will manage tooling; onboard new users, grant and maintain access, share updates, and provide trainings.
  • You may assist PX Design leads with engagement needs; scoping, planning, tracking progress, and reporting.
  • You may help PX Design leads with logistic details during discovery, stakeholder alignment, and working design sessions.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience managing multiple design engagements and/or leading design operations.
  • Product experience (PX), user experience (UX), experience design (XD), information architecture (IA), interaction design (IxD), visual/user interface design (UI), or producer / project management (PM) background.
  • Ability to navigate complex and regulated organizations while skillfully maintaining alignment across all stakeholders.
  • Experience onboarding talent and scaling a design team to address demand. A proven track record of keeping efforts on time, track, and budget.
  • Promote a culture where people are appreciated, feel supported, and can thrive.
  • Advocate for operational excellence, best practices, improvements, efficiency gains, and the value of good design.
