AVP - Information Security Communications and Awareness

Job Overview:

The AVP - Information Security Communications and Awareness is a highly visible role, responsible for developing multimedia content for internal and external consumption. This person will take ownership over the overall communications strategy and implementation of all communications from the security team to internal and external parties. They will also develop and implement the Security Awareness program to promote a culture of security throughout LPL, while educating employees about security risks and taking ownership of our security culture. A successful team member has a passion for helping others, alongside technology experience to ensure LPL and our advisors operate in a safe and secure manner. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ownership over all information security communications and strategy; including email distribution, video production, podcasts, PPT creation, newsletter updates, maintain operating rhythms, and note taking as needed.

  • Oversee global security awareness strategy and programs.

  • Manage ongoing security awareness campaigns.

  • Direct regular phishing simulations.

  • Ownership of cybersecurity awareness month.

  • Annual employee training maintenance.

  • Information security engagement team leader.

  • Maintain department document repository.

  • Develop organization communication and document templates.

What are we looking for?

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Information Security, Business, Technology or related field

  • Prior experience with communications or security awareness.

  • Prior experience creativity crafting and producing strong multi-media content.

  • Knowledge of several information security domains, such as: encryption, network security, multi-factor authentication, or regulatory/compliance

  • Quarterly travel as required

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong attention to detail and multi-tasking

  • Good collaboration and interpersonal skills, self-motivated, willingness to take on challenges and adaptability to change.

  • Ability to work independently and contribute to team deliverables.

Preferences:

  • Video production experience is highly preferred.
