Responsibilities

Job ID R-026568 Date posted 10/27/2022

Are you looking for an opportunity to help chart the future of a new and growing team?  Are you an analytical thinker interested in lending and personal financial management?  Are you passionate about delivering amazing products that add value to advisors and investors?  If so, this could be the role for you!

LPL Financial (Nasdaq: LPLA) was founded on the principle that the firm should work for the advisor, and not the other way around. Today, LPL is a leader* in the markets we serve, supporting more than 20,000 financial advisors, 800 institution-based investment programs and 450 independent RIA firms nationwide. We are steadfast in our commitment to the advisor-centered model and the belief that Americans deserve access to personalized guidance from a financial advisor. At LPL, independence means that advisors have the freedom they deserve to choose the business model, services, and technology resources that allow them to run their perfect practice. And they have the freedom to manage their client relationships, because they know their clients best. Simply put, we take care of our advisors, so they can take care of their clients.

The Banking and Lending Solutions group is responsible for delivering lending, cash management and banking offerings to more than 20,000 advisors and millions of clients nationwide.  The Banking & Lending capabilities compliment LPL’s strong investment offerings by addressing clients’ short- and medium-term needs and by addressing the debt side of clients’ personal balance sheets. We are on the forefront of the continued trend to bring banking + investing together.

Job Overview

The AVP, Partner Lending Solutions will lead the strategic and day-to-day management of our third-party lending offerings, which complement and extend the LPL banking suite for our advisors and investors.  In this role, you’ll be the primary relationship manager for a set of bank partners.  You’ll conduct ongoing analysis of partner bank results, develop KPIs/OKRs, and monitor performance with the end goal of ensuring that partners deliver the experience and products our advisors and investors demand.  Currently, the product suite includes securities-based lending (Reg U) and mortgage, and future expansion into other product types is expected.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead monthly and quarterly reviews of existing lending partners; develop agendas and hold partners responsible for delivering content to drive executive leadership understanding

  • Develop key performance indicators for existing third-party partners and hold each partner accountable to delivering the expected advisor and investor experience

  • Conduct analysis of the outcomes and business performance data to identify vendor/partner bank strengths, weaknesses and opportunities; create plans to address findings

  • Develop onboarding plan (schedule, technology and communications) for new bank partners

  • Resolve advisor escalations with partners as needed, ensuring that the advisor and investor receive the best possible outcome and experience

  • Advise transition teams and other home office groups on the lending offerings available to them and help match partner bank and internal solutions to the advisor and investor’s need

  • Build process workflows and conduct root cause analysis to solve advisor, investor and partner-bank frictions; advocate with internal and partner teams for policy or process changes

  • Contribute to the business cases for adding new lending capabilities or new partners to the firm’s product suite

  • Lead advisor and investor research to guide partnership decisions, including studies to measure advisor satisfaction with partner banks

  • Identify and prioritize technology needs for existing and new partners

  • Oversee daily business development and sales needs, including partnering with compliance teams to review marketing materials and campaigns

This role is remote eligible.  Limited travel (4-8 times annually) may be required.

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate has prior experience in product and partner leadership within financial services.  We want strong collaborators who bring an advisor and investor-centric mindset and can tell the story to our leadership and executive audiences.  We are looking for people who thrive in a fast-paced environment, are client-focused, team oriented, and genuinely passionate about the power of combining banking + investing to enable clients to achieve their life goals.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, analytics, marketing or business; MBA or other advanced degree preferred

  • Series 7 and 66 required; required within 1 year of hire if not already obtained

  • Proven contributor with 5+ years of experience in product management related roles with a broker dealer, custodian, RIA, investment, wealth management or financial services firm

Core Competencies:

  • Analytic thinker who is willing to get their hands into the data and create insights that drive decision-making

  • Relationship management experience – working with vendor partners to deliver awesome experiences to advisors and/or end-clients

  • Desire to be part of an entrepreneurial team and an ability to succeed within a dynamic, fast-paced environment

  • Enthusiastic, polished, professional demeanor

  • Ability to influence decisions and direction across the organization

  • Superior verbal, written, and listening skills, with an ability to adapt to different audiences

  • Expert consensus builder who drives change across initiatives within and outside direct accountability and evaluates solutions to the most complex business challenges
