AVP - Product Owner - CLR Automation

LPL Financial is seeking a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions and execution specialist with financial services experience to join our growing Scale and Digital Solutions team. As a Product Owner, they will manage and deliver components of business engagements that identify (process discovery), design, and implement technological and creative RPA and machine learning solutions for the organization.

Along with your teammates, you will work alongside our business and technology partners to identify and analyze business requirements and processes, identify potential automation opportunities, and propose plans of RPA and machine learning executions using LSS framework.

The ideal candidate for this role has a combination of strong business acumen, a consulting mindset, and software, product, and financial knowledge. They will assist with the development and delivery of product solutions, and ensure creative and continuous improvements to our products, with the goal of delighting our advisors and making it easier for our employees to do their work.

This role will embrace strategic, entrepreneurial, analytical, product, and project management skillsets to support our growth and positioning across the entire wealth management market as LPL continues to expand.

What does your success look like in the first 90 days?

  • Immersing yourself in and learn as much as you can about the Compliance, Legal and Risk business, agile methodology and how it’s applied in LPL, product model, the company, and our advisors
  • Bring a fresh perspective, ideas, and critical thinking to how our growing team operates, consistently asking questions and pushing for progress over perfection
  • Work with others in the team, department, and across the company to understand the LPL ecosystem and how it pertains to our strategic plays, business line and product development
  • Understand the current automation solutions implemented in LPL and provide outside perspective and explore enhancing the solutions for additional efficiencies and improved experiences

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading the process discovery (from the business owner perspective) and drive Eliminate-Simplify-Automate across the board via various levers, i.e., Automation (RPA and Cognitive)
  • Manage full life cycle implementations - Work with teams in the identification of business requirements, functional design, process design (including scenario design, flow mapping), prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures.
  • Develop RPA architecture and solution proposal focusing on scalability and extensibility
  • Define and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation
  • Work with Product managers, Process owners, and Technology leads to determine scope and priorities for product development cycles
  • Manage and prioritize the CLR Scale/DOP capability backlog, as well as ensure product completeness
  • Define Releases and Program Increments (PI), as well as participate in PI planning.
  • Develop Detail As Is Process Description – PDD (Process Description Document), Detail To Be Automated Process Description – SDD (Solution Design Document)
  • Provides continuous updates to RPA stakeholders and Product Manager during project delivery

Qualifications:

  • Solid product management background, experience with digital technologies, such as automation software, document digitization software, and workflow coordination software is preferred
  • Strategic mindset, with a pragmatic lens and a bias towards action
  • Intellectually curious, with strong analytical skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to analyze and develop strategies tailored to the needs of the client and business user
  • Experience working in agile development preferred. Lean Six Sigma Green belt required and Black belt certification preferred.
  • Additional Change Management and Agile SAFe certifications are highly preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management related roles with a broker-dealer, RIA, investment, or financial services firm (preferred)
  • Ability to self-motivate and work well independently and with different teams

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Education Required:  Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum Experience Required: 10+years
  • Preferred RPA Certifications: Business Analyst and Developer Foundation
  • 5+ years of experience applying process re-engineering tools and techniques in the financial services industry (preferred)
  • Experience with leadership, governance and change enablement.
  • Develop and manage vendor relationships.
  • Assist and drive the team by providing oversight.
