Job Overview:

LPL Financial is seeking an AVP – Product Owner, Re-engineering & Automation and execution specialist to join our growing Scale and Digital Solutions team.  This role will be responsible for and support our Automation initiatives. As a Product Owner, they will manage and deliver components of business engagements that identify (process discovery), design (Re-engineering), and work closely with technology to implement automation (RPA and machine learning) solutions for the Compliance, Legal and Risk (CLR) team

Along your teammates, you will work alongside our business and technology partners to identify and analyze business requirements and processes, identify potential automation opportunities, and propose plans of RPA and machine learning executions using LSS framework.

The ideal candidate for this role has a combination of strong business acumen, a consulting mindset, and software, product, and financial knowledge. They will assist with the development and delivery of product solutions, and ensure creative and continuous improvements to our products, with the goal of delighting our advisors and making it easier for our employees to do their work.

What does your success look like in the first 90 days?

  • Immersing yourself in and learn as much as you can about the Compliance, Legal and Risk business, agile methodology and how it’s applied in LPL, product model, the company, and our advisors
  • Bring a fresh perspective, ideas, and critical thinking to how our growing team operates, consistently asking questions and pushing for progress over perfection
  • Work with others in the team, department, and across the company to understand the LPL ecosystem and how it pertains to our strategic plays, business line and product development
  • Understand the current automation solutions implemented in LPL and provide outside perspective and explore enhancing the solutions for additional efficiencies and improved experiences

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading the process discovery (from the business owner perspective) and drive Eliminate-Simplify-Automate across the different departments of CLR
  • Develop Detail As Is Process Description – PDD (Process Description Document), Detail To Be Automated Process Description – SDD (Solution Design Document)
  • Manage full life cycle implementations - Work with teams in the identification of business requirements, functional design, process design (including scenario design, flow mapping), prototyping, testing, training, defining support procedures.
  • Provides continuous updates to RPA stakeholders and Product Manager during project delivery
  • Define and maintain an appropriately prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation
  • Work with Product managers, Process owners, and Technology leads to determine scope and priorities for product development cycles
  • Define Releases and Program Increments (PI), as well as participate in PI planning.

Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge of and 5+ years of experience designing and improving processes and project management in the financial services industry - wealth management industry preferable
  •  Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, Design Thinking, or Agile-Scrum Methodology training/certification or related methodology to implement large, complex, technical projects strongly preferred
  • Extensive experience facilitating Kaizen and implementing/supporting a Lean Management System preferred
  • Intellectually curious, with strong analytical skills
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to analyze and develop business solutions tailored to the needs of the client and business user
  • Product management background, experience with digital technologies, such as automation software, document digitization software, and workflow coordination software is preferred
  • RPA tool exposure or Certifications for business analyst and Developer Foundation preferred
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization; inclusive of written and verbal communications
