Job Overview:

LPL is seeking an Assistant Vice President, Quantitative Research Analyst to join its Investment Research department. This individual will be responsible for creating and maintaining a suite of analytics in support of LPL Research’s Investment Research teams.


  • Work with the research team’s subject matter experts across asset classes and disciplines (macroeconomics, equity, fixed income, etc.) to empower their decision making with quantitative research and data

  • Analytics will cover, but are not limited to, the following investment functions: Asset Allocation, Portfolio Strategy, Fixed Income Risk, Fixed Income Sector Forecasts, Economic Forecasts and Equity Risk.

  • The individual will work closely with members of the Strategic and Tactical Asset Allocation Committee (STAAC), in an effort to create quantitative analytics that will empower fast, data-driven decision making.


  • 5-10 years of work experience in a quantitative finance or data science role

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative, finance or economic field of study; with an advanced degree and/or CFA designation preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to scale and automate creation and distribution of quantitative analytics.

  • Experience in the utilization of analytical software and data sets such as Bloomberg, FactSet and BarraOne.

  • Experience using statistical analysis and scripting languages such as Python (preferred), or R

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate across a large organization

  • Ability to create a suite of analytics that will be leveraged by LPL Research’s investment subject matter experts.

  • Ability and desire to develop team members, whether direct reports or colleagues.
