Job Overview:

The Strategic Sourcing and Procurement within LPL’s Finance group is responsible for managing the full end-to-end sourcing and procurement lifecycle.  SS&P’s mission is to 1) Deliver sustainable, ethical practices and leadership to enable the selection of external partners to drive the best service, quality, and value for LPL while appropriately mitigating risk. 2) Provide leadership to our business partners through LPLs center-led Vendor Management Program to ensure that any contractual and performance risks are effectively mitigated. 3) Drive operational excellence through management of the requisition and contract processes, travel program, contingent worker program, and third party access controls. 

The focus of this role will be to become a trusted business partner by aligning to business units to understand their needs, conduct spend and contract analysis and develop category plans to help cultivate and drive strategic sourcing plans. The ideal candidate for this role will not only have sourcing, contract, and vendor management experience, but also strong business acumen to enable informed and targeted decisions to drive continuous improvement.  

What will you do?

  • Negotiate med-high dollar & risk contracts with key IT and Wealth Management vendors. Contracts include, MSAs, SaaS Agreements, EULAs, SOWs

  • Build strong relationships by acting as the sourcing SME for senior leaders in your assigned BUs, providing experience and insight to become a “trusted advisor’ to our internal partners

  • Create category plans to provide visibility to spend, vendor analysis, contract summaries, stakeholder engagement, and market insights that lead to both short and long-term strategies

  • Lead contractual reviews to ensure compliance with Sourcing and Risk Policies by engaging with the appropriate Compliance, Legal and Risk SMEs

  • Engage with your business partners to understand LPL Product Management’s strategy and operational needs while anticipating new opportunities

  • Enhance, prepare and deliver compelling Commodity / Spend reporting and presentations

  • Represent and advocate SS&P strategies and goals across the firm

What does your success look like in the first 90 days?

A successful candidate would be able to make an immediate impact by providing industry insights and making the business connections ultimately needed to become a trusted advisor. This candidate would immediately focus on understanding LPL’s financial, risk and contractual standards to drive successful negotiations, while focusing on understanding the future business needs. Through transparent interactions, you will begin to build trust & relationships with our key stakeholders.

What skills, experiences, and education are required?

  • 5-7+ years of relevant experience, preferably in the financial services industry

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or additional equivalent experience

  • Negotiation skills with demonstrable experience in negotiating win-win outcomes that meet the interests of all parties

  • Relationship Skills needed to build partnerships with cross functional teams in order to maximize value add and create operational efficiencies

  • Proven experience in managing multiple high profile projects, with an ability to prioritize individual workload based on business needs and deadlines

  • Experience with market data, portfolio management, rebalancing, and trading systems vendor relationships is preferred

  • Grace under pressure and a sense of humor!
