Digital Content Strategist Intern

Summer Intern, Digital Content Strategist (Marketing & Communications department, Content Strategy & Operations team)

Interns will be integrated into the Content Strategy team, a function of Content Strategy & Operations, and be key members that will assist in the completion of strategic improvement to digital content touchpoints, campaigns, experiences, and products. This could include writing and/or designing content for websites, blogs, campaign landing pages, or other digital content platforms/products.

In addition, interns will assist in other assignments throughout the internship period, learning content strategy best practices and different aspects of the discipline, including specialties like UX writing, writing for SEO, collaborating with designers, and writing to meet style guidelines.

Position Overview


  • Learn content strategy best practices, including the four major areas of expertise (editorial, experience, process, and governance)
  • Familiarize yourself with LPL’s digital style guide and write copy that follows style guidelines
  • Write and edit copy for LPL’s websites and digital products
  • Shadow senior content strategists and learn how they collaborate with partners and teams
  • Collaborate on a largescale project that will be completed during your internship

  • College student who will have completed their sophomore or junior year in 2020
  • Background or interest in writing, editing, design thinking, marketing, library science, and/or project management
  • Comfortable with change and adapts well to shifting priorities
  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Team player who’s willing to collaborate closely with others


Fort Mill, SC


Internship Standard Length: 10 weeks

Monday through Friday 8-4:30

Average Hours per Week


Skills & Qualifications

  • College student who will have completed their sophomore or junior year in 2020.
  • We prefer students in a content strategy, user experience, design, technical writing, creative writing, marketing, or library science program, but will also consider other academic programs.
  • 3.0 Minimum Overall GPA Required
