Job Overview:

The LPL Insurance Associates team within LPL’s National Sales & Consulting division is looking for an experienced training manager that will create and execute all internal training for our insurance division.  This includes all new hire training as well as additional and ongoing training for existing insurance associates. 


  • Partner with internal operations leadership and associates to develop standard operating procedures for all operations job functions  
  • Ensure all internal processes and procedures are fully documented and adhered to
  • Conduct and develop new hire training for all new life operations associates
  • Conduct regular 30,60,90 day reviews to evaluate performance to ensure incorporation of taught techniques
  • Closely monitor the team’s progress to goals, identify any skills gaps and customize training materials to increase productivity
  • Create a best in class onboarding experience for new team members
  • Report to senior leadership on impact of training programs
  • Design, implement and manage educational programs for our operations and sales team using industry best practices, continuously develop new approaches and techniques to learning
  • Work closely with operations and sales team members to identify the challenges they face on-the-job and create tools and materials to increase productivity
  • Collaborate with insurance leaders and internal business unit partners on innovative ways to enhance the effectiveness of all training opportunities
  • Responsible for leading and building out a new training program from the ground up
  • All other duties as assigned by management

  • 5+ years of experience in instructional development, adult learning theory, and/or BGA/insurance carrier operations training
  • Expert level proficiency in all life insurance new business and operations functions
  • BGA/Insurance Carrier experience is required
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills
  • Experience using Microsoft Office or other e-Learning platform
  • BA/BS degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, Finance (or a related discipline) is preferred

Core Competencies:

  • High level of self-motivation is required
  • Proficient BGA experience with iPipline tools is preferred
  • World-leading customer service skills is required
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast paced environment is required
  • Effective communication and writing skills are required
  • Must have a high level of self-awareness and ability to read the audience and adapt style as needed
  • Ability to build rapport quick with internal operations and sales team through understanding the individual and team’s unique needs
  • Positive attitude
  • Commitment to excellence and integrity
