Learning & Development Consultant

Position Summary:

LPL Financial is in search of qualified candidates for our entry level Learning and Development Consultant- Design Strategy role. The Learning & Development Consultant is a high energy, innovative instructional designer responsible for developing training content. The L&D Consultant will assess, design and develop training interventions. They will also contribute to process improvement measures to ensure effective training to individuals and teams.
 The ideal candidate should be able to consult with business units to determine specific training needs and work with a Senior Learning and Development Consultant to create effective curriculum.

Essential Functions:

  • Contribute to retaining and growing internal employees by providing training on LPL Financial technology and business processing in a way that resonates with our client businesses and increases their adoption to drives efficiencies in their daily operations and business practices.
  • Leverage ADDIE process to develop value added training solutions.
  • Assists in implementing strategies to track and communicate training status updates.
  • Ensures that training information provided to department or functional unit staff members is accurate, consistent and delivered within prescribed protocols.  
  • May deliver training for cross-functional teams in a continuous learning environment.
  • Maintain and continually expand knowledge of new learning approaches, technologies and tools through ongoing research and experimentation.
  • Work with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), global internal customer groups, and source materials to develop interactive and engaging online courses and learning interactions.
  • Measure training effectiveness/ROI and address specific feedback to revise content as needed.
  • Create and edit audio and video deliverables.
  • Maintain and continually expand knowledge of new learning approaches, technologies and tools through ongoing research and experimentation.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Expertise in eLearning development applications (e.g., Storyline, Captivate, Articulate, Camtasia)
  • Experience developing to eLearning technical standards (SCORM, AICC, xAPI)
  • Use of graphic design applications to develop visually appealing and engaging eLearning solutions
  • Proven project management experience with the ability to prioritize, manage and complete multiple projects with tight deadlines to communicate and collaborate with SME’s, global stakeholders and internal customer groups
  • Experience in video and audio editing
  • Experience with learning theory and instructional technologies
  • Experience with instructional design methodology
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in education - experience3 - 5 years of experience in instructional development, adult learning theory, technical writing
  • Ability to independently design and develop instructionally sound instructor-led training required
