LPL Business Solutions Marketing Leader

What We Need:

LPL is looking to hire a motivated Vice President of Marketing to lead our growing LBS Marketing team. 

The LBS Marketing lead is responsible for driving exponential sales growth of the LBS product suite to existing and new clients.  This innovative B2B marketer will develop and refine the overall LBS Marketing strategy and the plans to achieve that strategy.  This role oversees a cross-functional Marketing team that deploys integrated campaigns which in turn deliver a large % of LBS revenue (currently 40%). We need a take-charge, smart, dynamic, and savvy leader that can build close working relationships with multiple stakeholders and deliver results!

Background:

In 2019, LPL Business Solutions (LBS) was launched as an incubator start-up business within LPL.  Our goal was to create a business from scratch that focused solely on building solutions that would help financial advisors run a more efficient practice.  Fast forward to late 2021, and LBS now offers six different product solution portfolios with new and improved offerings on the horizon in 2022.  Every LBS solution we sell not only improves the efficiency our clients’ business, but it also contributes to greater overall client satisfaction, loyalty, and advocacy.  Visit www.lplbusinesssolutions.com for more information on LBS’s current product and service offering.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and continually refine the annual LBS marketing strategy and plan, along with key stakeholders across business, technology, and marketing functions.
  • Define, build, and deploy integrated marketing campaigns that generate interest and deliver quality leads into the LBS sales funnel; oversee the deployment of both digital marketing (email, online advertising, social, web sites) and traditional marketing methods (direct mail, events, collateral).
  • Coordinate directly and routinely with the LBS sales team to constantly deliver an appropriate amount of quality sales leads in a timely fashion; ultimately deliver a portion of total leads through an all-digital sales experience; capture sales feedback on leads to improve targeting and define nurture programs for leads not sold.
  • Create awareness of LBS solutions with LPL’s ~20,000 financial advisor clients with ongoing marketing programs; leverage insights to personalize messaging by applying segmented, targeted approaches for key audiences.
  • Help define the go-to-market strategy to market and sell LBS products and services outside of the LPL ecosystem to a much larger set of prospects (and not just financial service industry prospects).
  • Maintain a point of view on competitor offerings and marketing tactics; leverage insights to inform the business and provide input to product and marketing strategies.
  • Routinely interact with and serve as a thought leader to senior business executives across LBS; offer a proactive and assertive voice to shape strategy across product, sales, and marketing.
  • Measure campaign results and collaborate with key stakeholders to optimize marketing return on investment.
  • Build and leverage deep partnerships with Brand, Digital, PR, Operations and Product Marketing and Communications groups.

Requirements:

  • Ability to operate as a fact-based and data-driven marketer; decisions supported by insights, results, testing, and business cases.
  • Skilled at navigating corporate organizations but able to also be operate within a more nimble start-up environment; able to align many levers and inputs into one cohesive strategy.
  • Reputation for building high performing teams; enjoys developing and coaching other marketers.

  • Passionate about diversity, equity, and inclusion; focused on results of work.
  • Familiarity with agile initiatives and work principles.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business-related field; MBA a plus.
  • 10+ years marketing experience; large portion of marketing experience in B2B setting generating leads that resulted in meaningful % of total business revenue (marketing subscription based services a plus).
  • History of working closely with and managing relationships with senior level executives.
