Manager, Operations

This team is dedicated to servicing the operational needs of advisors leveraging Performance Reporting tools and deliverables powered by Fortigent. The Fortigent Reconciliation & Support group works together in a true team environment supporting a defined group of LPL Financial customers.

The manager opening will be responsible for the overall operational experience by working with internal, external, and offshore partners to manage the team’s day to day operations and deliver a high quality product to our advisor base. The manager of this team should be knowledgeable in investment reporting, portfolio accounting and performance reporting. The manager should also be skilled in team building and managing multiple teams/groups with varying SLAs and operational needs. The Fortigent Reconciliation & Support team handles various forms of reconciliation, managing portfolio accounting and service functions across an asset and custodian agnostic platform. 

Responsibilities

  • Provide ongoing support, coaching, feedback and developmental opportunities to address staff needs in order to engage them and help them be more effective and successful
  • Technical proficiency in all department specific applications to provide next level issue resolution and coaching to staff
  • Partnering with our offshore team to ensure cohesion and operational efficiency, including but not limited to:
  • Communication regarding process changes/technological enhancements
  • Daily completion report review and analysis
  • SOP update coordination, review, and verification
  • Trouble shooting and next level escalation management
  • Interfacing with Fortigent’s Consulting team and other internal partners to proactively address advisor pain points and communicate departmental best practices for advisor consumption
  • Development and modification of departmental policies and fail-safes to ensure increased efficiency and accuracy
  • Act as a subject matter in and lead departmental projects related to client onboarding, data feed builds/maintenance, and technological enhancements to the proprietary reporting system
  • Support and contribute toward the successful execution of projects and initiatives that support LPL and departmental priorities
  • Other assignments as required by upper management 

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or finance; other degrees will be considered
  • 4+ years of experience in the financial services industry, preferably in supervisory or management roles
  • Past exposure to performance measurement and/or portfolio accounting is preferred
  • Strong customer focus, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and a strong work ethic
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and Word
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, software and tasks at any given time
  • Must positively adjust to rapidly changing environment
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
  • Experience with ZenDesk is advantageous
  • Ability to set priorities for and manage a team with wide ranging responsibilities
