Senior Analyst, Advisor Technology Engagement, Job Description

The Advisor Technology Engagement team, within the Advisor Solutions Product team, is focused on supporting our advisors by providing guidance, support and solutions for technology tools that are leveraged by both advisors and their investors. This position will focus primarily on supporting advisors that are transitioning to LP, most specifically to LPL’s fast growing Strategic Wealth Services (SWS) affiliation model.

Candidates for this role must have a passion for customer experience and an interest in the technology consumed by financial advisors.  Communication and coordination skills are paramount, as this role will sit at the center of the technology implementation and onboarding efforts for these firms.  The role will work with many stakeholders, and requires a candidate to be able to think strategically and tactically to anticipate needs of clients. Collaboration with external partners, as well as internal business, operations and technology groups, will be critical to ensure the needs of our advisors are met.



  • Point person for technology software implementation, most specifically within the SWS model.  Efforts include:
    • Being a conduit between various stakeholders to provide an excellent implementation experience
      • External partner management of onboarding action items, building tight partnerships along the way
      • Internal coordination to make sure that implementation efforts are being executed on
      • Strong communication and expectation setting of deliverables and status to onboarding firms
    • Tightly coordinating with overall Transition Specialists regarding timing of efforts
    • Educating advisors on both the implementation process, as well as general education on various home grown and third party advisor technology tools
  • Tighten and formalize processes around onboarding efforts
  • Ongoing Support of advisors and teams in regards to general servicing of ‘business as usual’ technology needs and questions


  • Ability to flex and grow to be able to assess an advisor tech stack and be able to optimize technology workflows
  • Play a secondary role in advisor and prospect Home Office Visits
  • Participation in studying the industry 3rd party advisor technology landscape in order to keep pulse on trends
  • Work closely with cross-functional internal teams to understand upcoming technology features, as well as the broader overarching picture of where LPL is headed from a strategic tech perspective
  • Build cross-functional relationships to establish a collaborative environment at all levels of the organization
  • Complete ad-hoc assignments that assist in development and implementation of strategies and new processes
  • Ad hoc support to the AVP+ personnel


  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to present to advisor teams
  • Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to evaluate issues, and provide solutions, or in many cases, responses without defined solutions.
  • Entrepreneurial perspective, self-starter, ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Project management / multi-tasking / time management skills across different projects
  • 4+ years of client-facing experience; Background in advisor practice, financial services, broker/dealer, custodian, and/or FinTech/SaaS Technologies a plus
  • Skills with SharePoint and PowerPoint encouraged; knowledge of 3rd party Advisor Tech vendors desired; knowledge of collaboration and servicing tech tools (i.e. Smartsheet, Miro) a plus
  • Positive, flexible can-do attitude
  • Results oriented and outcome based
