Job Overview:
The Senior Analyst plays a key role in ensuring that the Trade Reporting team successfully performs its reporting responsibilities. It is vitally important that LPL Financial has effective reporting on operational and trading data, for we are subject to extensive scrutiny from regulators and auditors. This position is responsible for working directly with the VP of Trade Regulatory Reporting within CARE Risk Management in the daily execution of various trade regulatory reporting activities as well as collaborate with other team members. This entails ensuring timely, accurate, and complete reporting to various exchanges, self-regulatory organizations, and regulators. Additionally, the Senior Analysts provide support through Quality Control (QC) reviews, further researches, and is expected to complete more complex data analysis, as well as attend and prepare for different types of meetings. The team works collectively to ensure that reports meet the regulatory requirements and adhere to the audit principals of completeness, accuracy, and timeliness.
The Trade Reporting team executes a number of firm-wide reporting functions that fulfill LPL’s regulatory responsibilities as a Broker-Dealer and Registered Investment Advisor, including, but not limited to:
- Daily Consolidate Audit Trail (CAT) reporting to FINRA.
- Daily Customer Account Information System (CAIS) reporting to FINRA.
- Daily Large Option Position Reporting (LOPR) filings with the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC).
- Daily INSITE and bi-weekly Short Interest filings with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
- Quarterly Form 13F filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
- Daily Electronic Blue Sheets (EBS) submissions to FINRA.
- Daily monitoring of Trade Reporting Facility (TRF) and Over-the-Counter Reporting Facility (ORF) through NASDAQ and FINRA.
Responsibilities:
- Processing (typically using Excel) all Regulatory Reporting completely, accurately, and timely.
- Updating processing documentation as needed based upon the QC performed by the Senior Analysts or Managers.
- Partnering with the Senior Analysts and Management in researching and providing explanations for reporting anomalies.
- Improving the team’s processing acumen by updating Policies & Procedures and cross-training new Analysts.
- Assisting with process improvements by standardizing workflows, developing templates, and partnering with the Technology business unit on more robust automated solutions.
- Maintain control documentation needed for the various internal, external and regulatory reviews
- Investigate, resolve, and track exceptions that may arise.
- Assist with coordinating the remediation of reporting anomalies.

Requirements:
- 5-10+ years of Broker Dealer Operational experience across multiple departments.
- Intermediate to advanced SQL knowledge and/or similar data analytical tools
- Intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge.
- Intermediate knowledge Microsoft applications, particularly, VISIO, WORD, ACCESS, and PowerPoint.
Core Competencies:
- Ability to work well under pressure, adapt to unexpected events, prioritize and multi-task in a deadline driven environment.
- Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Analytical skills and the ability to consult and resolve issues related to data extraction, validation, and report generation.
- Knowledge of control environment for SOX, SSAE18, FICCA, and 17a-5.
Pay Range:
$74,640-$111,960/year
The salary range is dependent on a number of factors, including the applicant’s skill, experience, and work location.
