Job Overview:
The Senior End User computing (EUC) Engineer will be responsible for the implementation, administration and maintenance of the Citrix desktop and application virtualization infrastructure. Other responsibilities will include planning, configuring, testing, deploying, reporting on and supporting the corporate physical and virtual image (Mac and Windows OS), proprietary and 3rd party application packages, application and OS update/patch management (Mac and Windows OS) and physical and virtual configuration management solutions (SCCM, AirWatch, Intune, JAMF) and virtual technologies (Citrix, VMware, etc).
This senior role will be responsible for evaluating existing and new technologies, creating innovation and efficiencies in imaging, cloud technology, configuration management, and mentoring junior engineers.
Responsibilities:
Engage with end users to ensure that the configurations and applications being provided meet their needs along with adhering to the LPL standards
Provide lead engineering capabilities for both physical and virtual environments
Produce and maintain physical and virtual standards, knowledge base, operating procedures, guidelines and system documentation
Create, maintain and administer standard corporate image, deployment, management, and monitoring capability in the physical and virtual environment to include servers
Package, test, and deploy system and application updates/patches to the physical and virtual end-user environment; SCCM, XenApp, XenDesktop
Perform updates on master vDisk image files and apply Windows software updates, patches, Operating System and application changes
Perform Citrix XenDesktop, XenApp, NetScaler administration, infrastructure upgrades, and advanced maintenance procedures for Citrix products
Review, test, and deploy the latest Citrix hotfixes and ascertain whether the Delivery Controllers and Server Based OS / Desktop-Based OS virtual machines requires them
Coordinate infrastructure maintenance activities such as Patching, Application Maintenance Releases
Perform VDI deployments with XenDesktop
Design and implement platform security across entire physical and virtual environment
Comprehensive administration of both physical and virtual environments
Perform planning, design and implementation of physical and virtual hardware, software, and application upgrades and rollouts through physical and virtual management tools
Provide vision and strategy for end user computing environment including evaluation of emerging technology, software, and hardware road map to improve customer efficiency and productivity
Maintain overall platform health, check for warnings or alerts within Citrix Director, event logs, or other monitoring software to investigate and determine the root cause of the alert (if any)
Lead technical driven projects and deliver on time within budget
Research and evaluate both physical and virtual capabilities and tools as required to ensure functionality is available to support business initiatives across the organization.
Build automation into daily processes to improve the Ease of Doing Business
Adhere to existing Change and Problem Management Processes
Serve as the highest level of technical escalation for user related issues
Mentor junior team members and train on systems and solutions
Ability and willingness to work nights, weekends, and on-call support
Provide exemplary high touch customer service skills, problem resolution, and support for internal customers
Tier 3 escalation support for physical and virtual environment including VIP (executive) issues

Requirements:
7+ years of experience with end user computing technical support in a Windows and virtual environment
5+ years of experience with Citrix and virtualization platforms and 4+ years of experience with Active Directory and GPO management for the physical and virtual environment
Extensive knowledge of Citrix technologies and virtualization platform such as VMware Vsphere (networking, storage, hypervisor, etc.)
Experience with Citrix XenDesktop, XenApp, NetScaler administration, infrastructure upgrades, and advanced maintenance procedures for Citrix products and Citrix Provisioning methodologies
Extensive knowledge of profile management tools – Liquidware Labs ProfileUnity, Flexapp
Core Competencies
Extensive knowledge of installation and troubleshooting
Provide Support – On call and after hours
Expert level experience with desktop image development and image deployment
Expert level troubleshooting skills with Windows OS/Office Suite including Windows 10 and Office 365
Expert level knowledge of scripting and development knowledge – PowerShell, VBScript, Batch
Strong business, technical and analytical abilities and ability to use advance problem solving to find answers for customer issues
Demonstrates great leadership through projects and daily tasks
Ability to manage multiple end-user support and business as usual requests effectively
Very strong work ethic; able and willing to be a productive, reliable, and collaborative team member with minimal supervision
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with ability to handle a wide variety of customer service situations
Proficient with application virtualization and delivery using VMWare and similar VDI technologies
Experience using automated testing tools – LoginVSI
Working understanding of Security, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP concepts
Preferences:
Functional knowledge of Thin Client technologies : IGEL, HP Thin clients
Application support and OS (Windows/MAC) patch management experience in a medium to large size corporate environment with multiple client sites using tools such as SCCM, Intune, WSUS, and Jamf
1-2 years leading initiatives and or projects related to desktop engineering or configuration management (including but not limited to SCCM upgrades, infrastructure or topology improvements and changes, and Windows OS upgrade rollouts)
