Senior Product Manager, Advisory Programs

Job Overview:

The Senior Product Manager of Advisory Programs role will focus on managing LPL’s Strategic Wealth Management (SWM) program serving third party RIAs and three programs delivering separately managed accounts (SMAs) to LPL’s various channels.  The position involves being the central point of contact for these programs: resolving issues; identifying opportunities to enhance the programs; and driving program initiatives forward.  A successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to solve problems independently, multi-task, engage with advisors, and communicate with various teams across LPL. 


  • Owns the day-to-day running of the advisory programs and any issues that arise.  Programs include: Strategic Wealth Management (SWM), Manager Select, Manager Access Select and Manager Access Network

  • Engage with key partners on a routine basis to drive the success of the programs.  Examples include working with the investment product and research teams on product availability; the marketing team on collateral and messaging; sales teams on feedback and escalations from advisors; etc.

  • Participate in and lead approved projects that improve the competitiveness of these programs

  • Own the documentation of the program strategy and explore opportunities to evolve the strategy based on industry research and advisor & business partner feedback

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field

  • 3+ years of experience in investment management, product management and advisory related roles with a broker dealer, RIA, investment or financial services firm

  • Previous experience in advisory programs – specifically with Separately Managed Accounts, updating the pricing of advisory programs, and / or evolving the technology experience of an advisory program

  • Familiarity with systems that are the underpinning of advisory programs: trading, billing, proposal generation & analytics, client reporting, advisor work stations, investor portals, etc.

  • Experience effectively communicating with different departments across a large organization to drive change

  • Ability to author, review and manage Business Requirements Documents and other critical documents in the SDLC process
