LPL Financial is seeking a strong candidate to join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, one of the most visible departments in the organization. As a trusted business partner, you will partner with colleagues in finance and business units to lead analysis and update monthly financial and metrics reporting to help our management team make informed decisions. The ideal candidate has a combination of strong business acumen, technical and corporate finance knowledge, high attention to detail and organization, and excellent communication skills. The ability to work within a team, take initiative, and interact effectively with finance and business partners as well as all levels of management is critical.
The FP&A group plays an instrumental role in the analysis and reporting of LPL’s financial information. This team is tasked with the reporting of financial information in various forms including but not limited to the company’s quarterly earnings release, monthly executive packages, board of director presentations, key operating metrics, and monthly financial results with variance commentary. *This role will be hybrid, so will need to be close to our San Diego, CA or Fort Mill, SC Office.
Working closely with cross-functional business partners to understand and provide insights to monthly financial performance and forecasts for senior management
Prepare and deliver compelling, accurate, and visually effective financial presentations to senior management
Analyze data from various sources to compile comprehensive pictures of the overall business
Reporting on monthly performance against key business metrics for leadership and board of directors
Preparing monthly executive packages and board of director presentations
Supporting Investor Relations and Corporate Accounting in the quarterly earnings release
Support month-end close process through the review of actual results
Identify and recommend areas of improvement and implement effective solutions
Recognizing system inefficiencies and implementing effective solutions
Ad hoc analysis and additional responsibilities as required
Strong proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
BA/BS degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics (or a related discipline) is required
In depth knowledge of financial reporting processes
Detail oriented with insight to determine applicability of big picture analysis is critical
Ability to work within a team and take initiative
Effective communication, presentation and writing skills
Strong collaboration, analytical and research skills
Self-motivated with strong work ethic
Ability to work comfortably with incomplete information and deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize across multiple projects and adapt in real-time
Commitment to excellence and integrity
Ability to take complex factors and create concise and decision supporting analysis is essential
Proactive problem solver, expected to present problems and recommendations simultaneously
Strong systems and process mindset; experience with enterprise systems, Tableau and Hyperion reporting tools is a plus
3+ years finance-related experience; professional services experience preferred
