Sr data scientist

Position Summary

We are looking to hire a Senior Developer Data Scientist in the Technology organization. Under the direction of the Application Development Manager, this position will help solution business requirements and technology directions to support Product Roadmaps and LPL vision.  This position will involve collaboration with business partners, Architects, Quality Assurance, Release Management, and the Change Control board to plan, design, develop and implement solutions for these needs.

The candidate should be capable of designing and developing timely, high quality products, with state of the art user analytics methodologies to best solution these needs, and have the drive to ensure that the vision and success criteria are met within budget and schedule constraints.

Responsibilities


Design and implement optimized strategies for data acquisition, storage, and processing of structured and unstructured data

Mine and analyze data from disparate databases to drive optimization and improvement of marketing, sales, and operational strategies

Implement best practices for data science experiments and projects

Contribute to the long-term product roadmap for adoption and integration of machine learning techniques into the larger corporate roadmap

Build and test predictive models for attrition, same store sales growth, and revenue generation

Partner with product management, executives, and other stakeholders to understand company needs and devise use cases for addressing

Create executive-level dashboards and presentations regarding analytic models and their outputs

Qualifications

Masters Degree in Statistics, Applied Math, Computer Science, or related field

10 years’ experience with product development and architecture of software and applications and services

Expert knowledge of agile, design and enterprise patterns

Expert knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree, neural networks, regression) and their advantages/drawbacks

Expert skills in one or more statistical programming languages (SAS, R, Python)

Advanced skills in Apache tools (Hive, Sqoop, Pig, Spark, MapReduce)

Report writing skills in OBIEE, Tableau, QlikView

Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall software development

Familiarity with TFS source control, build processes, and continuous delivery

Experience guiding, coaching, and developing with other engineers

Excellent organizational and communication skills, both oral and written

Ability to facilitate, influence and manage change to deliver solutions
