Sr. Project Manager

The Senior Project Manager (PM) is responsible for overseeing the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of projects within the Operations Controls organization.  Main duties include maintaining the project plan and communicating with the product team and senior management on the project status. This individual will also be an advocate for the Operations Controls organization and a liaison with our business partners.

What will you do?

  • Responsible creation and management of project plan.  This includes facilitating project meetings with the product team, senior management and vendors. Responsible for working efficiently with individuals at all levels from the various business units within LPL Financial.  
  • Prepare presentations for senior management to deliver the status and vision of various IIS Initiatives.
  • Provide additional support to other Project Managers on high impact projects within Operations Controls.
  • Any additional responsibilities dictated by management to keep the projects on target.

What skills, experiences, and education are required?

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in project management related roles with a broker-dealer, custodian, RIA, investment, wealth management, or financial services firm.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio a must.
  • Knowledge of retirement plans a plus.
  • Experience with six sigma and product life cycles are preferred
  • Ability to work under pressure/deadlines and manage multiple projects and priorities
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral, with ability to present materials to the highest levels in the organization
  • Must be comfortable communicating with financial advisors, senior management and vendors on a regular basis
  • Strong time management and organization skills.
