Tech Sales Demonstrator

As the Tech Sales Demonstrator, you will work directly with independent and institutional advisors that are in the midst of deciding whether or not to move their practice to LPL Financial. As the subject matter expert on LPL’s core technology, you will be responsible for educating these potential advisors on technology that will support and grow their businesses. You will play a key role in the sales process and will be an instrumental part of an advisor’s decision to join LPL.

The Tech Sales Demonstrator role will give you exposure to LPL’s processes quickly, making you a competitive candidate for other internal opportunities.

What will you do as the Tech Sales Demonstrator?

  • Partner directly with our recruiting team to coordinate technology demos. Maintain a centralized mailbox and calendar which is used for requesting and scheduling the demos.

  • Connect directly with prospective advisors to promote and sell LPL’s core technology, focused on describing the efficiencies within the technology platform (ex. ClientWorks) and explaining the value various solutions will bring to the advisor’s practice.

    Note: Audiences vary between individual advisors working to grow their practice to multi-billion dollar producing enterprises.

  • Host tech demos virtually and in-person at our home office locations in partnership with our recruiting team for prospective advisors across all regions and affiliation models (Core, Institutional, RIA Only, Hybrid, SWS, Linsco). The primary focus of this role is hosting the demos; an average of four per day should be expected. 

  • Manage a team of backup technology presenters, including coaching and review of presentation skills and providing training where needed.

  • Partner with product owners throughout the firm, to understand future enhancements to our technology.  Champion and communicate these future enhancements to Business Transitions Partners.

  • Invite advisors joining LPL to attend weekly training workshops and coordinate with the Learning and Development team to provide the list of advisors who will attend (ClientWorks Fundamentals Training).

What we are looking for?

We want strong collaborators who can educate and promote LPL’s core technology. We are looking for people who excel in a fast-paced environment, are client focused, team oriented, and are able to execute in a way that encourages creativity and continuous improvement.

What skills, experiences and/or education is required?

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a tech sales role

  • Bachelors degree preferred

  • Experience in the financial services industry preferred

  • Exceptional sales skills, with the ability to promote technology specific to the unique needs of the customer

  • Understanding of LPL’s core technology platform & 3rd party integrations as well as knowledge of FinTech landscape industry wide is a plus

  • Sound technical expertise, with an ability to communicate technical information and resources to technical and non-technical users/customers

  • Exceptional presentation skills with high levels of engagement and proven track record in leading effective tech demos

  • Clear and accurate communication (both verbal and written), as well as engaging presence, exhibiting excellent interpersonal skills, patience and flexibility

  • A positive attitude, ability to motivate learners and establish credibility quickly

  • Adaptable, having the unique ability to adjust a presentation based on audience knowledge and type of clientele (e.g. high touch, large AUM teams, platform)
