Job Overview:

LPL is seeking a VP of Capacity Planning that will have responsibility for on-premise and cloud production capacity required by the IT organization to meet business demands.  As a newly defined role and leader for capacity management you will be responsible for building the program from the ground up.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for capacity planning and for development of metrics in the organization

  • Assess and categorize existing infrastructure and cloud investments.

  • Continually improve the plan according to business priorities

  • Monitor key metrics and effectiveness of planning

  • Develop short and long-term forecast models that outline IT’s capacity needs

  • Work with internal IT business units and finance to insure alignment

Requirements:

  • Experience collaborating across multiple business units such as ITAM, finance, architecture, and engineering teams.

  • Ability to communicate plans to senior leadership as needed to garner support for investments

  • Minimum of five years of experience in managing and developing IT processes and supporting tools.

  • Minimize the impacts on the business caused by capacity and availability related issues in the infrastructure and to proactively prevent the occurrence of incidents and problems.

  • Knowledge of developing and managing capacity and availability plans

  • Capacity monitoring and diagnosing deficiencies to improve the availability and readiness of IT services

Core Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, both oral and written, with the ability to articulate and educate others about complex technology with business acumen.

  • Works in a strategic consultative capacity providing coaching, advice and counsel to business stakeholders/partners balancing business need/solutions with influencing an integrated approach to program implementation

  • Demonstrated ability to develop future capacity requirements and identify/resolve existing capacity issues.

  • Ability to develop a repeatable reporting model (KPI’s) that illustrates the current state of planning and implementation success against plan.

  • Understanding of servers, network, cloud, database, middleware, and storage concepts

Preferences:

  • Experience in a FinTech or Financial services organization

  • ITIL certification

  • Knowledge of Cisco infrastructure and AWS highly preferred.
