VP, Technical Lead - Full Stack

Job Overview:

With LPL Financial you will have the opportunity to be part of a team obsessed with creating a transformational user experience for our advisors. We are seeking an inspired technology leader to drive the redesign and delivery of LPL’s advisor-facing client relationship management and digital office product solutions.

Joining as a Vice President on the Digital Advisory Enablement team, which is within the Technology business unit, you will be responsible for guiding a high velocity, multi-functional development team focused on delivering industry-leading digital solutions to our Advisors.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple agile development teams providing nurturing leadership and talent development efforts for successful product delivery, application, and platform support.

  • Design, develop, test, tune and implement technical solutions based on business objectives and strategic direction.

  • Own end-to-end design for the platform, solution delivery, execution and code quality. 

  • Lead sprint execution with developers.

  • Collaborate with other Development teams, Enterprise Architecture and Support teams to design, develop, test and maintain the various platforms and their integrations with other systems.

  • Work collaboratively and effectively with QA and  DevOps to ensure all SDLC processes are adhered to

  • Assess opportunities for platform/application and process improvements and prepare documentation outlining platform roadmap.

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, optimize and enhance existing systems.

  • Utilize and build RESTful and SOA backend services.

  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and application integration partners.

  • Application resiliency, scalability and performance design.

What are we looking for?

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of professional SDLC experience in a diverse set of technology disciplines

  • 8+ years in a technical leadership capacity driving design and implementation of complex systems in a full range of standard development platforms.

  • Full stack developer with 10+ years of experience in web/service oriented applications.

  • Experience with Cloud Infrastructure, preferably AWS

  • Extensive background in a variety of technologies, including .NET, C#, Angular, JSON and REST services, SQL Server & Node, GIT, Jira & Confluence

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Core Competencies:

  • Confidence in helping teams navigate the complexities of microservice development and migration, aligning technology outcomes to business needs.

  • Able to communicate with authority and confidence and whiteboard your solutions effectively for a varied audience of stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and non-technical.

  • You are a learner and a quick study, always curious about new technologies and how they impact LPL and our clients’ businesses.

Preferences:

  • Professional Architect certification of AWS is highly desirable

  • Experience with data platforms on premises and the cloud

  • SPC Certification or similar agile credentials  

  • 5-10 years of financial services experience

  • Knowledge of estimation, tools and principles
