Job Overview:

We are looking for a senior technology leader with experience in the data space to lead our Direct Business technology team.  This is an exciting opportunity to lead and help define the future state of processing which contributes a large amount to LPL’s assets under management and which has been identified as a key area for improvement.  As such, LPL is looking for someone to lead multiple teams of professionals as we upgrade our frontend, backend, and middleware layers in order to bring our applications to a state where we can be a key success factor in LPL’s own growth strategy. 

Candidates should have extensive experience in application development and leadership.  Financial services background and experience with complex business and technical processes are highly desired. 


  • Candidate is expected to lead multiple existing teams which handle direct business data processing

  • Lead the teams through a renovation of the processes while continuing to support the existing processing and key deliverable due in 2022

  • Critically evaluate requirements and solution alternatives to create a strategy and roadmap for direct business technology going forward.

  • Collaborate with, and develop an excellent working relationship with our Business and Technology partners to work toward delivery of our goals

  • Create any new necessary governance to ensure that deadlines are met and transparent communication about priorities and status are shared

  • Technical leadership of the platform which currently includes technologies such as SQL Server, .Net, Mule, Informatica, Angular Javascript, and many batch jobs handling feeds from a variety of external and internal sources

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in a data organization with increasing responsibilities and roles

  • Experience with technologies utilized by the platform mentioned above, and the ability to guide resources on the team with that knowledge

  • Experience communicating and collaborating with both technology and business partners

  • Experience within an agile delivery framework

  • Experience managing multiple teams with onshore/offshore model

Core Competencies:

  • Comfortable working independently, adapting to shifting priorities, demands and timelines in a fast paced environment

  • Keen attention to detail and complex problem solving abilities from operational and technical perspective.  Ability to work independently and engage other team members as needed

  • Ability to handle full workload and meet proposed deadlines

  • Expert written and oral communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse groups, executives, managers, and subject matter experts

  • Detail oriented and critical thinker

  • Capable of effectively planning, prioritizing and executing tasks utilizing resources and tools

  • Has technical vision and can drive best in class solutions


  • Experience with Financial Industry is strongly preferred

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Motivated and driven by achieving strategic technical solutions

  • Experience with data platforms on premises and the cloud
