LPL Technology is seeking a VP of Engineering/Software Development for owning end to end solutions delivery for a high-profile and complex digital platform. This is a strategic leadership role reporting to the SVP of Technology.

Job Overview:

This role will provide technical leadership partnering with Business and Product teams for implementing a digital platform that streamlines, accelerates, and delights prospects during business-as-usual and large event transitions (M&As) in their journey to becoming LPL advisors.

Responsibilities:

  • Experience leading multiple development teams across various value streams providing nurturing leadership and talent development efforts for successful project delivery, application, and platform support.

  • Build cross-functional rapport with other leaders in the tech and prod organizations for help navigating through dependencies, risk mitigation or triaging issues to resolution.

  • Have a deep, hands-on understanding of cloud architecture and design, with an emphasis on secure, distributed hybrid cloud platforms.

  • Very strong understanding of enterprise integration patterns, with an emphasis on distributed, asynchronous highly available and failsafe transactions

  • Have a deep understanding of API design, the difference between platform design and application design, and the tooling to create modern, public-facing monetized APIs.

  • Strong Object-oriented Principles in a common OOP language such as Java, .Net, Python, or Ruby. Capable of coding when required. Stand up proof of concept projects is a regular activity.

  • The ability to partner, influence and shape technology modernization decisions and outcomes throughout the enterprise.

  • Understanding of SecDevOps practices and tooling, with an emphasis on implementing continuous deliver within a highly regulated environment.

  • Ability to drive solutions across multiple aspects and considered a SME, including UI/UX through to backend platforms and integrations to other platforms.

  • Contribute to the development lifecycle, including platform/system and database architecture, and QA processes in a scaled Agile framework (SAFe) methodology.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with executive presence.

What are we looking for?

Requirements:

  • 15+ years of professional SDLC experience in a diverse set of technology disciplines.

  • 10+ years in a technical management capacity for a large, distributed group in an enterprise with a high performing technical team.

  • 10+ years of financial services/brokerage firm experience (highly desirable).

  • 2+ years working with and managing remote teams (onshore & offshore) including vendor relationships.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Core Competencies:

  • Broad background on a variety of technologies, including:

    • Angular JS

    • BPM

    • CRM (Salesforce, Dynamics, etc.)

    • Case Management (ServiceNow, Dynamics, etc.)

    • Java/C++

    • MuleSoft

    • Microsoft SQL

    • Jira & Confluence

Preferences:

  • Professional Architect certification of AWS and/or Azure is highly desirable.

  • Recruiting and onboarding of Financial Advisors.

  • Application architecture and solution design.

  • UI/UX design and development.

  • Aha, Miro & Smartsheet.
