AVP - Senior Network Engineer

Job Overview:

Candidate must have enterprise level Network Engineering and Operations experience.  Direct experience working in multiple Data Center environments.  Design, Engineering and optimization of Local Area, Campus and Wide Area Networks.  Network Engineering responsibilities for multiple active Data Centers interconnected with OTV and VXLAN. 


  • Manage, upgrade, and maintain the network at several corporate office sites in addition to our four primary datacenters.

  • Mentor junior staff members to help develop their career and technical capabilities.

  • Delivery of next generation network solutions while maintaining operational stability. 

  • Assist in researching and designing appropriate solution, along with overseeing its implementation.

  • Develop Network standards in accordance with Engineering and industry best practices.

What does your success look like in the first 90 days?

In the first 90 days you will develop a solid understanding of the existing technology, the team and their roles, and begin developing relationships with business partners.  At the same time it is expected you would be engaged in new initiatives driving the business forward. ie: Datacenter network modernization, improving scalability and resiliency.

What are we looking for?

  • Five or more years of data center core networking support and/or at least five (5) years of experience with networking protocols and technologies

  • Experience designing, architecting, planning and implementing routing, switching and data center solutions and strategies in multi-vendor environment Cisco, F5, Palo Alto, VMWare, Citrix, Unix, Microsoft

  • Experience with installation, deployment, support and troubleshoot Cisco Nexus 9K, 7K, 5K, and 2K platform

  • Experience managing and deploying Cisco ACI multi-site in a previous organization.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience in the field.

Core Competencies:         

  • Experience in configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco Nexus and ACI enabled switches.

  • Experience with Wide Area Telecommunications Circuits such as MPLS, Waves, SDWAN technology.

  • Ability to generate and read packet captures for Wired and Wireless networks for advanced troubleshooting and traffic optimization of network traffic.

  • Experience in design and Engineering Cisco Wireless Lan Controllers and Identity Service Engine (ISE).

  • Network Devices Security Hardening and Controls.

  • Hands on experience and Engineering level experience with Cisco Nexus 9000, 7000, 5000 and 2000 series switches

  • Hands on experience and Engineering of various Cisco Router models including ASR, 4,000, 3,000 and 2,000 Series Routers.

  • Expert knowledge of dynamic Routing Protocols such as OSPF and BGP.

  • Experience using Network monitoring and logging tools

  • Experience in Network optimization, reporting and long-term planning.

  • Experience in configuring and maintaining AWS VPC and Azure VPS connectivity.


  • Cisco Certified Design Professional and/or Cisco Certified Network Professional Certification.

  • CCIE’s will be given additional preference
