Job Overview

Currently this is primarily a remote position with in office requirements as needed.  This may change in the future. The Staff Accountant is a key position in the Controllership group and will report to a Manager of Revenue Accounting. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the accounting records and providing accounting support and analysis for revenue and production expense transactions of LPL Investment Holdings and its subsidiaries.  The Staff Accountant will assist in implementing and identifying areas of process improvements to help the team streamline and enhance efficiencies, promote the analysis and communication of results, and provide proactive customer service.

What will you do?

  • Monthly closing of the books from journal entries, analysis , and reconciliations
  • Support audit requirements and other deliverables
  • Drive innovations, and use critical thinking to great opportunities to process improvements, and enhancements to areas of responsibilities.
  • Create relationships within LPL and outside of LPL.

Please note: Additional responsibilities or duties may be assigned to you as needed or determined.

What does your success look like in the first 90 days?

All primary responsibilities are trained. Being able to submit the majority of journal entries and reconciliations timely would be a success. You would be gaining an initial understanding of the broker dealer business. This new hire would also be building relationships with other departments and relationships outside LPL.

What skills, experiences, and education are required?

  • Strong accounting with analytical and critical thinking skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • BA/BS degree in Accounting or related fields
  • Minimum of 3-4 years relevant professional experience with strong desire to advance career in accounting field
  • Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of management inside and outside of organization and work in a team-oriented environment
  • Solid computer skills including intermediate Excel functions
