Assistant Vice President, Corporate Communication

Job Overview

Reporting to the VP of Corporate Communication, Corporate Priorities, you’ll work closely with departments across the firm to understand and communicate corporate initiatives and offerings. With the goal of helping to inform, protect, and serve our advisors and institutions so they can care for their clients, you’ll develop and execute a variety of communication plans for our internal partners, and prepare executives for client-facing events. Finally, you’ll support communication strategy and development for the firm’s growth opportunities, conferences, and crisis communications.

As an individual contributor with management potential, you’ll ensure your projects and work align with our company’s strategic communication plans and reflect our corporate story and messaging.

Responsibilities

  • Support VP of Corporate Communication by developing strategic, effective, consistent, and relevant messaging in support of firm strategy and goals.
  • Support crisis communications affecting advisors and/or employees, contributing to strategy, project management, writing, and distribution.
  • In partnership with the Investor Relations team, produce quarterly earnings communications for advisors and employees.
  • Develop, support, and/or implement communication plans for internal partners, including announcements and profiles, business success stories, Q&As, policy updates, town hall content, scripts, social media, speeches, talking points, surveys, and other communications.
  • Partner with other communication teams to discover and suggest strategies to augment leaders’ personal and professional voices.
  • Develop and coordinate video and audio communications for leaders in alignment with the aforementioned objectives.
  • Collaborate with social media team to support thought leadership and increase advisor engagement.
  • Act as a subject-matter expert on communication-related operational and editorial policies and procedures.  
  • Participate in evolving processes for content ideation, development, and execution across greater Marketing and Communication team.
  • Ensure a consistent tone and voice across all communication materials.
  • Leverage LPL-owned multimedia channels (including web, video, social, and other media) to support company goals and reader/viewer engagement.
  • Serve as a champion of LPL’s culture through communication development, continuous improvement, and professional modeling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Marketing, Communication, English, Journalism, or related field preferred); master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience focused in communication, including working with audio/visual professionals to produce content
  • Financial services and/or technology communication experience a plus

  • Ability to interact and collaborate well with all levels of the organization, including senior executives, as well as external partners or vendors
  • A proven self-starter who is comfortable tracking and managing multiple versions of a single piece, with strong attention to detail and a proven process for content management
  • Stellar written and oral communication skills, with the ability to grasp and translate complex and disparate ideas into cohesive and clear key messages delivered in a conversational tone
  • Graceful under pressure, resilient, and flexible in the face of change and revisions
  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines with ability to deliver quality work quickly, when needed
  • Comfortable expressing yourself and speaking up to senior leaders, knowing when and how to do so in a way that best serves the business
  • Communicate up, down, and sideways, considering all stakeholders in decisions and messaging
  • Advocate on behalf of the advisor and bring those issues forward for awareness and review
