Job Overview:

At LPL Financial we consider it our mission to take care of our advisors so they can take care of their client.  Joining as an AVP on our Trading Software Engineering team, you will be managing multiple teams through the Demand and Delivery processes and playing a significant role in the Customer Outcomes.  Within Demand Management you will assist with Design and Estimation. Within Delivery you will management teams responsible for to build and maintain the sustainable, scalable capabilities that support delivery of the highest standards of software products and processes.  This role will also include responsibility for leading special projects to drive more quality, scope, and scale in the offering and provide technical leadership to other team members.


  • To implement, train and mentor a number of teams on the development process such as Domain Driven Design, Implement Architectural Standards, Software Architecture Practices.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to technology teams based on business objective and strategic direction in Proposal Generation tool and Risk Scoring.

  • Collaborate with other development teams, enterprise architecture and support teams to design, develop, test and maintain the various platforms and their integration with other systems.

  • Assist in requirement analysis and design discussions with users, technical and business stakeholders and monitor all agile ceremonies with teams.

  • Partner with various stakeholder teams across business units to develop positive relationships at all levels.

  • Assess opportunities for application and process improvements and prepare documentation outlining platform road map.

  • Working with operations, technology, and executive teams, to translate business strategy into technology strategy supported by ROI analysis and strong product and project management.

  • Work collaboratively with QA, DevOPS teams to adopt CI/CD tool chain and develop automation

What are we looking for?

  • Development Manager leading 2 or more teams with 3+ years of experience in that role or a Tech Lead with 6+ years of experience leading a team. Experience in designing and implementing Greenfield complex systems and enhancing / maintaining applications over multiple years.

  • Bachelors of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or other related field from a top 500 international University. Foreign educated candidates where their University is not ranked in the top 500 will require a Master’s degree. Masters preferred.

  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud Infrastructure, preferably AWS.

  • Full stack developer with 10+ years of experience designing web/service oriented applications using .Net and SQL server databases

Core Competencies:

  • Excellent understanding of IT infrastructure.  Able to setup and manage multiple architectures in the cloud including VMs, Docker, Containers, Serverless, Lambda, in a secure fashion.

  • Experience working with Microsoft C#.

  • Experience with Domain Driven Design or similar processes

  • Experience with Software Modeling with LucidChart highly desirable

  • Experience working with exception handling, caching (Apache Ignite, Solr, Coherence or others) and Pub/sub (Kafka, Tibco EMS or others)

  • Experience working with Jira/GIT in an Agile team within a SAFe framework.

  • Experience working on client scripting tools like Angular JS, Type Script, jQuery, RxJs is a plus

  • Experience working with AWS cloud technologies such as EC2, ELB, VPC, S3, RDS, Dynamo DB, SQS, SNS, Cloud Formation, Route53, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, IAM and Auto Scaling will be a plus.

  • Experience in Docker container development and deploying containers to AWS cloud will be a plus.

  • Understanding of relational and non-relational databases. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, SingleStore and Dynamo DB preferred.

  • Extensive web/service development experience with the following technologies: Cloud solutions experience with AWS, Azure, Containers, Java, Server less, Lambda, MYSQL, Node, MVC, Angular

  • Experience working with AWS Cloud, .Net Core and open source technologies.

  • Experience working with SQL Server databases.

  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience working on Angular based front end applications is a plus. 


  • Strong verbal communication and mentoring skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both technical and non-technical.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Motivated and driven by achieving long-term business outcomes.

  • Cloud Architecture certification preferred.
