This a unique and exciting role requiring a mix of functional communications expertise, industry acumen, and operational excellence to effectively support LPL’s External Communications (advisor and public communications). The role will support the External Communication team’s operational activities, and also serve as a liaison between them and LPL’s Research organization. The ideal candidate will support the delivery of timely market-related information and economic commentary into the most applicable channel for external promotions to advisors and the media.
This individual will manage external communications operations including editorial calendars, content compliance, and awards. The candidate will help customize communications strategies for various audiences, including current and prospective financial advisors and institutions, the media and industry publications.
Responsibilities:
- Build a deep understanding of LPL Research’s full suite of products and services, while keeping pace with the ever-changing nature of our industry.
- Collaborate with marketing “pod” counterparts to drive tangible and measurable business outcomes.
- Develop a familiarity with industry trade publications and seek opportunities for Research thought leaders to share their perspectives with them.
- Work closely with Research and External Communications to provide messaging aligned with Marketing & Communications themes, while helping our advisors make more informed investment decisions and create better outcomes for their own clients.
- Communicate LPL’s economic and market perspective in a way that’s not only timely and useful, but also engaging and relatable.
- Integrate operations using a holistic approach, from compliance and tracking to the management of team-wide editorial calendars.
- Create strong partnerships with other internal teams throughout LPL.
- Design audience-specific messaging for standard and non-standard distribution channels to promote LPL Research content beyond traditional mediums.

Qualifications:
- 3+ years of marketing communications or public relations experience, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including creative, editing, and proofing.
- Strong and compelling storytelling abilities.
- Successful track record for multi-channel initiatives that drive measurable results.
- Strong sense of curiosity for the markets and relevant industry content.
- Experience measuring and analyzing campaign performance to drive and improve engagement.
- Demonstrated ability to tie communications to business outcomes.
- Experience with an agile and cross-functional team structure.
- Experience developing test-and-learn plans.
- Strong collaboration and project management skills, including a demonstrated track-record in managing time-sensitive, complex projects with cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business or related field.
- A sense of humor, grace under pressure, and an eagerness to learn.
