Data Analyst

The Analyst, Data & Analytics will be a member of the Applied Analytics & Business Intelligence capability within LPL’s Enterprise Data & Analytics team. The Data & Analytics team is an entrepreneurial, high-performing team leading the enterprise’s utilization of data as a strategic asset while ensuring strong data quality and governance.

The Analyst partners with team members across the Data & Analytics capabilities (Data Science, Applied Analytics & Business Intelligence, Digital Analytics, and Data Strategy & Governance) to enable LPL execution and measurement of strategic initiatives. The Analyst will play a key role in analyzing complex business problems and communicating data driven insights to stakeholders across the organization

The Analyst will contribute to a number of strategic initiatives across LPL through the entire product engagement lifecycle (Empathize, Define, Prototype, Test, and Implement). Examples of initiatives this role will support include creating scalable datasets to size markets for new products, innovating ways to leverage LPL’s data as a strategic asset, and building new data & analytics solutions for advisors and partners.

What will you do?

  • Leverage data to create insights and analyses to solve complex business problems for stakeholders across LPL, including but not limited to customer segmentation, data visualization (dashboards), lead generation and prioritization, and next-best action.
  • Communicate and coordinate across various Data & Analytics functions, such as Data Science, Data Strategy and Governance, and Digital Analytics, to ensure Data & Analytics brand is consistent and receives diverse feedback on work product.
  • Create and manage reports & dashboards with tools such as Tableau and Python. This will require creating complex query logic to merge multiple sets of segregated data.
  • Develop deep analysis and understanding on how advisor behavior and marketplace events impact advisor growth and associated product sales
  • Conduct ad-hoc analyses as appropriate to support priority business projects; Respond in a timely manner to ad hoc questions from executives

What does your success look like in the first 90 days?

Actively contributing ideas to enhance data analysis and automation, while obtaining an in-depth knowledge of LPL’s data ecosystem, tools, and processes.

What skills, experiences, and education are required?

List up to five skills or experiences (5 max) that are a must, including technical, soft skills, licenses, etc. Minimum education requirements should also be included only if required.

  • Bachelor's degree in Decision Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Economics, or related discipline
  • Related hands-on project experience working programmatically with and analyzing data.
  • Experience with programming or scripting languages (e.g. Python, R)
  • Experience working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle), distributed technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark) and cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure).
  • Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)
