Digital Workplace Strategist

LPL’s Digital Experience Team is currently looking to hire an experienced Intranet & Digital Workplace Strategist to lead efforts to deliver and enhance products and capabilities as part of LPL’s evolving enterprise portal, search and social collaboration platforms. This person will manage projects from concept to launch, incorporate content strategies into employee intranet/extranet platforms, define and manage processes that ensure content remains current, and provide strategic direction on the evolution of the employee digital experience at LPL.

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, Digital Content Strategy, this role is responsible for continuously optimizing employee-related digital experiences to support business needs.  

You’ll leverage your expertise and passion for employees as your customer, and act as a guide to co-create a better workplace with your human resources and service partners.

We’re looking for someone who is a user experience generalist, and strong editor with specific experience managing intranets, portals and collaboration spaces. You should be comfortable delivering solo, acting as a member of a larger team, as well as leading project teams.

The ideal candidate is someone who has been a successful member of a fast paced and entrepreneurial team focused on optimizing employee digital experiences in a regulated industry. The position is based in Fort Mill, South Carolina (Charlotte Metro area) or San Diego, California.

Essential Functions:  

  • Work with digital, content and subject matter teams to create, edit and improve content inside our employee facing digital experiences.
  • Partner across teams (human capital, corporate communication, corporate newsroom, etc.) to aggregate, curate and optimize existing experiences as well as envision new experiences.
  • Specifically lead efforts to improve collaboration and connect internal subject matter experts across the firm in support of our advisor clients
  • Work with AVP, Digital Content Strategy to apply and evolve a digital content style guide
  • Apply digital and UX best practices to drive employee engagement
  • Drive human-centered approach to product design, from research and insight generation to concept to deliverable
  • Develop project schedules and work plans for efforts with low to medium level complexity.  Track all tasks and issues related to execution of the work plan.
  • Own key project routines such as status reporting, daily work team sessions, deep dive working sessions or other necessary business team meetings; participate in technology project routines as required.
  • Collaborate with Digital team members including product managers, creative resources (IxD, VzD, graphic design and video production), social media consultants, content publishers, email producers, and analytic specialists
  • Drive cross-functional resources to fulfill project deliverables, including partnering with the Technology team as needed for development support.
  • Ensure any content created for online consumption is optimized for user goals, search, and/or KPIs that help drive improved engagement.
  • Employ empathy to imagine and create intuitive, accessible and easy-to-understand digital content experiences that delight our emplyees.
  • Handle multiple projects concurrently and prioritize requirements into short and long-term plans.
  • Adapt to and succeed in a constantly changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Apply user-focused methods that align to business and technical expectations.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in a digital content strategy or consulting role, with a specific focus on intranets and collaboration platforms.  
  • 3+ years of work experience analyzing and interpreting behaviors related to an interactive digital experience
  • Experience with unique collaboration platforms or innovations such as Facebook Workplace preferred
  • Experience at a major financial services institution, large retailer, or other regulated industry preferred
  • Strong writing and editing skills for B2B, B2C and B2B2C, digital environments and applications, marketing and UX/transactional writing
  • Strong knowledge of user experience across devices, platforms and channels
  • Knowledge of information architecture and or knowledge management principles a plus

Job Requirements:

Minimum Education Required:  Bachelors
Minimum Experience Required: 5 years

Software/Systems Skills Required/Preferred: Word, PowerPoint , Excel, Access, Workfront or other project management software, SharePoint, Adobe Experience Manager or other CMS.  Proficient with Axure, Adobe XD, Sketch or similar tools for purposes of creating wireframes, and prototypes
