Job Description
Responsibilities
LPL’s Advisor Affiliate Technology team is looking for a customer service focused individual with a broad range of technical skills to provide on-site support for a select group of our small to medium-sized Advisor firms. This individual will be part of a dedicated team working alongside internal technical support team members, internal business units and external managed service providers to deliver world-class technology and service to our customers.
LPL Financial (Nasdaq: LPLA) was founded on the principle that the firm should work for the advisor, and not the other way around. Today, LPL is a leader* in the markets we serve, supporting more than 18,000 financial advisors, 800 institution-based investment programs and 450 independent RIA firms nationwide. We are steadfast in our commitment to the advisor-centered model and the belief that Americans deserve access to personalized guidance from a financial advisor. At LPL, independence means that advisors have the freedom they deserve to choose the business model, services, and technology resources that allow them to run their perfect practice. And they have the freedom to manage their client relationships because they know their clients best. Simply put, we take care of our advisors, so they can take care of their clients.
Job Overview:
We are searching for a Senior Deployment Technician, Advisor Tech Solutions who will be the face of our technology organization and travel to customer locations, serving as the hands-on tech lead for a variety of projects including launching new firms, helping existing firms transition to LPL’s equipment and tools, refreshes and upgrades, and providing emergency support for time-sensitive issues. When not onsite at a customer location, this engineer will be in the office helping prepare for future projects and providing remote support as part of the dedicated service team.
Candidates for this position must be willing to travel with little notice and for up to two-weeks at a time, as project requirements dictate. The perfect candidate will have a good balance of technology expertise and business/relationship management acumen and must be comfortable interfacing with customers in the field as well as business partners and remote engineering and support teams. To be successful in this role, candidates must be able to think and act quickly when facing problems in the field, be willing to roll up their sleeves and really dig into issues while ensuring they uphold elevated levels of customer service. Candidates must also be quick learners and comfortable with the types of issues that high-growth firms experience – partnering with program and project teams to build runbooks and develop processes as we go.
Responsibilities:
Serve as the onsite deployment technician, configuring and implementing technology products, tools, and services – from network gear to user workstations and everything in between
Conduct training and learning sessions with new or transitioning users on LPL equipment, tools, and services
With little direct supervision, solve problems on a myriad of technology-related issues while logging notes and documenting actions into ticketing and/or project management systems
Provide exceptional technology support onsite (as dispatched) and remotely
Assist with inventory and asset management
Act as point of escalation for service-related issues – potentially after hours or on weekends
Maintain current knowledge and understanding of LPL's offerings, Sponsor products, market dynamics and industry trends
Remain in constant contact with project/program resources and be a reliable and trustworthy communicator and team player
Perform other duties as assigned
Travel to customer sites as needed, 50% of time or more (as project requirements dictate)
