Senior Metadata Analyst

We are currently looking to hire a Senior Metadata Analyst within the Enterprise Data and Information Services team, which is a part of LPL’s Technology organization. This position is responsible for supportingan enterprise-wide metadata program which seeks to achieve the required level of consistency, quality, understanding, and protection of data.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the implementation, rollout and adoption of an enterprise-wide, Informatica metadata toolset.
  • Provide expertise on the development of taxonomies and methodologies for consistent data classification and organization.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of metadata strategy and best practices. 
  • Promote and facilitate consistent adoption of metadata standards across the enterprise.
  • Create and maintain data lineage flows and mapping documentation.
  • Maintain and support business glossaries and data dictionaries/ catalogs.
  • Work closely with IT counterparts to maintain logical and physical data models in a central location.
  • Partner with Data Stewards and Data Owners in the identification and documentation of business metadata.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of data across all domains and entities.
  • Provide clarity for business terminology and relationships to data structures.
  • Focus on continuous improvement of data lifecycle processes, procedures, standards, and usages.

Qualifications:

•     7-10 years’ experience as a Data Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Developer role in a Data Management organization.

  • Experience maintaining metadata for complex data environments and ensuring data integrity.
  • Experience with Informatica IDQ, AXON, and Enterprise Data Catalog strongly preferred, or other comparable metadata toolsets.
  • Passion for ensuring consistency, quality, and integrity of data.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Familiar with data modeling practices and standards across conceptual, logical, and physical levels.
  • Familiar with database design and development methodologies.
  • Familiar with SQL or other database query languages.
  • Highly organized with strong communication, problem-solving, documentation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to be proactive, possess flexible attitude, learn new skills, and manage ambiguity.
  • Experience in financial services.

Additional Requirements:

  • Experienced in both waterfall and agile project methodologies.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
