Senior Research Analyst: Strategic Client Insights

We are currently looking to hire a Senior Research Analyst on the Strategic Client Insights team, responsible for developing and scaling a customer research and insights program to support the needs of LPL’s Strategy & New Ventures team and key LPL business partners. This new team member will focus on providing consultative support and expertise to enable LPL’s customer research needs, managing a proprietary advisor insights community, building a customer research playbook, and supporting customer research for key strategic initiatives. The individual will be responsible for improving LPL’s ability to understand the needs of its customers through research and to develop customer-centric insights.

As part of the Strategic Client Insights team, this individual will demonstrate strong thought leadership and a deep knowledge/breadth of experience in consumer insights, application of diverse methodologies, survey design and project execution in order to successfully support strategic initiatives and identify growth opportunities for the firm. A successful candidate will have a passion, curiosity and empathy for our clients, a strong desire to continually improve the world around them, and a successful track record of working in collaborative, high-performing teams. Experience in insights / competitive intelligence, design research, strategy consulting, and solving for highly unstructured problems in an iterative, hypothesis-driven approach is a plus.

What will you do?

Customer Research & Insights

  • Collaborate with other researchers to conduct customer and market research for identified opportunities, analyze and synthesize research findings, and communicate actionable insights

  • Advisor outreach and feedback aggregation to highlight insights for key strategic initiatives

  • Assist with research scoping, partnering with internal business partners associates to learn their questions and develop best approaches towards meeting their needs

  • Opportunity for continued growth within strategic insights, design research, thought leadership

Research Program & Platform Management

  • Scale and support a “self-serve” customer research program, including overseeing our survey platform (we use Qualtrics) and managing our internal advisor insights community

  • Assist in building LPL’s customer research capabilities and facilitating the adoption of customer-centric research methods

  • Develop a foundational customer research learning curriculum for LPL associates , including developing survey question library and best practices, conducting trainings and workshops

Research Operations

  • Take ownership of advisor & investor recruitment for our research studies

  • Identify tools, update technology and document operational processes

  • Track research that has been completed to build a knowledge management library

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for an individual with demonstrated skills in customer research and insights who would describe themselves as a creative, customer-centric problem solver and strategic thinker and who would thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused, and team-oriented environment.

What skills, experience and/or education is required?

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in research or consumer insights

  • Knowledge of research best practices, including problem definition, research design, research execution, analysis/interpretation, and compelling communication of results to drive action

  • Familiarity with design research, market research, and marketing research activities

  • Comfort with deriving insights from multiple sources (qualitative and quantitative)

  • Ability to translate research findings into business insights and to communicate them in a way that is clear, meaningful and actionable for senior management

  • Strong communication skills (oral and written), including demonstrated ability to establish productive relationships and interact effectively with business partners at all levels

  • Proven ability to independently and efficiently manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment to deliver outstanding results

  • Some experience with survey design and programming tools, preferably Qualtrics, and/or experience building and managing an online insights community is a plus
