Overview

We are currently looking to hire a Senior Analyst in the Strategy & New Ventures (S&NV) team, focused on Business Strategy. The Senior Analyst will report into Senior Vice President, Business Strategy and help define strategic priorities and identify key capabilities needed for LPL’s business units to effectively compete in the marketplace.

The output from these efforts will also support the development of the firm’s long-term strategy and enterprise-wide strategic projects. To do so, the individual must have outstanding critical thinking skills, strong ability to turn analytics into compelling insights, and be capable of concise oral and written communication. Experience in industry/competitive intelligence, strategy consulting firms, solving for highly unstructured problems in an iterative, hypothesis-driven, “answer first” approach is a plus.

What will you do?

·Help manage and execute hand-picked enterprise-wide strategic initiatives within the purview of one of these areas: market growth/penetration, customer experience & journeys, product & technology enhancement, or sales & service enablement

·Conduct independent research & analysis, including understanding customer insights and the competitive landscape, and prepare a business case for a specific opportunity

·Assist in partnering with key business units and functional groups to help define the strategy and transform ongoing strategic priorities into investment needs and other strategic decisions around capabilities and products to be built

·Support select business units with market analysis and go-to-market strategy development for their products and services

·Work with internal clients on a consultative engagement basis, to help create strategic solutions to the organization’s most pressing issues, such as: market sizing, new go to market strategies, product and solution development, profitability analyses, competitive assessments and bench-marking, etc.

·Serve as part of an internal consulting function to help enhance and mobilize our corporate strategy

·Provide project/stakeholder management and analytical support as needed

What we are looking for?

What skills, experience and/or education is required?

·1-3 years of experience at a top-tier management/strategy consultancy or part of a company’s corporate strategy & business development team; Bachelor’s degree in a related field 

·Proficiency in strategy development, strategic planning process, investment planning & portfolio management, and operational execution

·Hypothesis driven, comfortable working in ambiguous situations, and ability to tell a story & develop frameworks to get to ‘so what’

·Basic knowledge of the wealth management and financial advice industry, including customer trends, key players, differentiating capabilities, and profit drivers (preferred not required)

·Strong interpersonal and communication skills and experience influencing senior leaders

·Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word and Outlook

This position will temporarily be working remotely during COVID-19. Once we are allowed to return to office, this person will be located in San Diego, CA.
