Job Overview:

LPL is currently seeking a Senior Communications Consultant to join the Marketing & Communications department. This role, as part of the Corporate Communications team, will be responsible for writing, editing, and project management, supporting various corporate communications projects and an assortment of business units. This individual will have demonstrated project management skills, a high level of accountability, and experience excelling in matrixed, deadline-driven environments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in communications, with knowledge of the financial industry or other highly regulated fields. In addition, this individual should have the ability to think creatively, utilizing different mediums to reach our target audiences. The candidate should be able to adapt to the changing needs of the market and business, be comfortable with the ambiguous, and be able to react quickly and thoughtfully to keep our advisors and employees informed. This individual will demonstrate a passion for executing with excellence combined with agility, innovation, resourcefulness, and a growth mindset.

What will you do?

  • Assist in developing communications, which often explain complex business concepts, to our advisors, their clients, and our employees, using a human tone
  • Own, execute, and continually improve upon a weekly advisor-facing e-newsletter
  • Use our project management system, Workfront, as well as relationships with business partners, to complete high-quality communications on time and on brand
  • Work closely with various business units, digital, analytics, and marketing teams while leveraging resources across the firm
  • Have an eye for detail, with strong editing capabilities
  • Use a creative and agile approach to developing content, with out-of-the-box thinking
  • Work collaboratively with a wide variety of personalities across a large organization
  • Embrace and champion our mission and cultural values
  • A self-starter, able to see projects through from ideation to completion

What skills, experiences, and education are required?

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, a related discipline, or equivalent additional experience
  • Highly organized with a minimum of 5 years' writing/editing experience, preferably in Corporate Communications; Compliance, Legal, & Risk; or Service
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with some design experience
  • Experience with project management, and coordinating and aligning teams to reach a unified goal
  • Proven ability to think strategically and holistically, as well as be able to adapt on the fly, for crisis communications
  • Experience working in financial services or another highly regulated industry is preferred
  • Resourceful approach applied to workload
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Familiarity or willingness to learn Chicago Manual of Style
