Job Overview:

LPL is seeking a Senior Events & Meeting Planner within the Corporate Events department, which is a part of LPL’s Human Capital organization.  This role is responsible for developing and executing on a wide range of company-wide projects that contribute to the employee experience, such as: All Employee Town Halls, Milestone/Achievement celebrations, Employee engagement and Appreciation activities, CEO/Leadership driven programs.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a creative and strategic thinker and a nimble problem solver with flawless operational and tactical execution skills. This position reports to the Vice President, Corporate Events.

What will you do?

  • Develop full scale project plans from ideation to execution for message driven virtual and in-person events and activities that align to company strategy and deliver a compelling employee experience.
  • Act as a product owner and lead collaborative and cross functional teams, including defining project goals, roles, tracking deliverables, to execute on budget, on time and with operational excellence, while maintaining a nimble approach and ability to pivot as the environment shifts.
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate with internal business partners to understand their needs and strategize on approaches that will best meet their team’s needs.
  • Develop strategies and execute on communications to provide stakeholder awareness, gain feedback and consensus at program inception. Systematically monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders defining project progress, risks/issues and solutions and communicate status to senior management on a regular basis.
  • Lead the execution of virtual events and activities, both in-studio and within a variety of other formats, in collaboration with the Digital Event Services Team. Determine appropriate platform and log on process, create content plans, show flows, presenter overviews, rehearsal schedules, studio environment and manage all production elements to ensure flawless execution and attendee experience.
  • Lead the execution of in-person events and activity logistics such as: theme and creative development, attendee and presenter communications, program format, food and beverage, facilities and security, branding and signage, audio-visual, content creation and video production.
  • Develop and manage reporting on key metrics for each project including attendee surveys, participation data, content views and more to provide information to support project outcomes, ROI and help inform future projects and ensure projects and programs align to company priorities. Learn quickly from feedback and apply an entrepreneurial mindset to nimbly iterate based on the feedback.
  • Research and identify event services suppliers/vendors and collaborate with the info sec, procurement and finance teams to ensure proper process are followed for contracting, invoicing and reporting and that we are producing quality experiences for attendees.
  • Follow industry trends in event technology and bring new approaches and tools to the team and project planning to ensure continuous improvement.

What skills, experiences, and education are required?

  • Degree in marketing, communications, or a related discipline, or equivalent additional experience
  • Proven ability creating and executing in-person and virtual events and activities, including producing in-studio and remote shows and presentations with show flows, audio visual, scripting and content management
  • Highly organized with a minimum 5 years of experience working as a cross-functional project manager on complex/creative events, marketing and communications projects
  • Desire to be part of a dynamic and creative team with an ability to succeed within in a fast-paced environment, grounded in delivering great experiences
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills with an ability to articulate vision and gain consensus
  • Strong familiarity with the MS Office suite, Smartsheet, Box. Some design experience is a plus
  • Travel is expected to be roughly 15% or less
