Sr. Learning & Development Consultant

What will you do?

The Senior Learning & Development Consultant will utilize instructional design knowledge coupled with advanced facilitation skills to create innovative instructor-led and online learning resources, develop learning documents, instructional plans, success metrics, and eLearning programs. This team member will work with both internal employees and advisors. A key skill in this role is the ability to leverage Agile principles in development work and consulting with business partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and conduct training programs under limited supervision.

  • Analyze business unit work process, environment to recommend employee training and development programs.

  • Serve as business facing partners when assigned body of work or business unit (CW, product initiatives with multiple deliverables, Omni or CLR work)

  • Devise high level design strategy for multi-solution projects (larger scale, may only be developing one aspect of total)

  • Develop course outlines, documentation, assessment strategies and maintain instructional design direction and development through all phases

  • Build expert level knowledge of content (LPL technology offerings, operational procedures, resources, LPL competitors, 3rd party tools, leadership concepts, professional development topics, soft skills)

  • Facilitate complex training (ILT, webinar, office visits, 1 on 1s, conferences, for new/existing advisors)

  • Own complete product/program, fully manage delivery details, and communicate with business partner

What does your success look like in the first 90 days? 

Success for the Senior Consultant, Learning & Development will hinge on quickly adapting to projects already in flight, learning LPL Product offerings and their business value to advisors to help them quickly adapt and thrive. It will require learning Agile principles to move work quickly through the pipeline without sacrificing quality. The ideal candidate will be able to take limited direction, couple with great consultant to build out learning and facilitations plans that will help LPL win with their advisors and employees.

What skills, experiences and/or education is required?

Demonstrated knowledge of instructional design techniques and practice. Advances facilitation skills and consulting capability. Knowledge of assessment and evaluation methods. Awareness of Agile/Scrum methodology for Learning & Design. Bachelor’s Degree
