The Sr. Operations Specialist in Settlements is a team player responsible for balancing, reporting, and researching all exception items that settle through various depositories. Additionally, this role completes basic financial and regulatory functions, ensuring compliance with all prescribed internal policies and regulatory practices. The Sr. Operations Specialist reviews client accounts, works with contra dealers, Purchases & Sales, Margins, ACATS, Compliance, and LPL advisors, escalates items to management, and follows up on pending items in a timely manner.
Reconciling fails to receive/deliver for equity and fixed income metals, alternative investments, and foreign securities.
Generating reports for Municipal Bond, DVP, Penny Stock and CNS Trades.
Answering questions from internal and external clients via departmental mailbox
Balancing net settlement figures between General Ledger accounts and NSCC, CNS, Bank of New York (BONY), and Fidelitrade.
Working with senior colleagues, analysts, and leadership to resolve position breaks between the above depositories and LPL Financial.
Reviewing procedures and requesting edits as needed to maintain current process documentation
Training staff on various Settlements tasks

Ability to multitask with multiple operational processes and multiple data input platforms
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
Excellent data entry skills (numeric and alpha)
Strong email communication and organization skills
Bachelor’s Degree from an Accredited University
Knowledge with BETA Terminal for Security Entries
Depository Trust Company (DTC) and Bank of New York (BONY) knowledge
