Technology Associate Program (Multiple Opportunities)

Technology Associate Positions  

Applications are being considered for available roles across Technology. Applicants for full-time Technology Associate positions need to be enrolled full-time as a student and be within 12 months from graduation, or graduated within the last 12 months, with a major in an applicable field. We have multiple roles available in the Technology organization, including Software Development, Infrastructure & Operations, Quality Assurance and Security. In each of these roles, you will have the opportunity to work alongside our technology team members and deliver technology solutions to help the firm while developing your skills.

Software Engineer: 
LPL software engineers develop technology solutions to support the firm’s strategic product roadmaps. This includes collaboration with senior engineers, business partners, technology architects, quality assurance teams, and release management to plan, design, develop and implement solutions. 

Quality Assurance Engineer: 
QA engineers perform software quality and test processes to ensure technology solutions deliver the intended results. This includes collaboration with senior QA engineers to build and maintain automation scripts that execute test plans quickly and accurately to protect the integrity of the technology environment and the user experience.  

Network Engineer: 
Network engineers are part of the infrastructure team, and responsible for maintaining and evolving the voice and data networks that enable communication flow throughout our organization. This role will give you an opportunity to work with many departments as our communication needs change with business and technology growth. Network engineers are also an important part of the team working on migrating some of our infrastructures to public clouds.  

Security Engineer: 
Security engineers ensure the safety of the firm’s technology and data assets through deploying and monitoring security tools. This includes the actual operation and functional oversight of all security controls, tools, and agents deployed throughout the organization. The security team also plays an important role in protecting our advisors and their investors from technology-based threats. 


  • BS or advanced degree in Computer Science or related field with a minimum overall 3.0+ GPA once the degree is finished
  • Some experience outside of the classroom such as an internship, hackathon, research project, or related experience preferred
  • Classroom experience directly related to your preferred role (i.e. Software engineer, network engineer, etc.)  
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and passion for learning new technologies
  • Demonstrated time management skills  
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with teams
