VP, Enterprise Consultant (Strategic Accounts)

Job ID: R-015989 Date posted: 10/15/2021 Primary Location CA-San Diego Other Locations SC-Fort Mill

Do you envision yourself being a part of an industry leading, high-performing team?

Can you drive the evolution of managing and growing one of our largest advisor segment?

Do you want to be responsible for strategic consulting with some of our largest and most complex Large Enterprise (LE) network affiliate firms?

Are you a high energy, outside of the box thinker that understands the independent wealth industry?

The Vice President, Enterprise Consulting (Strategic Accounts) will play a proactive role in charting the course with some of LPLs largest and most complex enterprise network advisor firms.  You’ll build relationships with the executives at these larger firms, gaining a deep understanding of their business, consulting on a range of topics, owning client specific initiatives and translating their needs into actionable consulting engagements.

You’ll lead a highly functioning pod of professionals, including a relationship manager and growth consultant, in support of each strategic account relationship, with each role on the team integral to managing, supporting and growing these complex relationships.  You will also be partnering with business development, transitions and others groups within LPL as you execute against your account strategy.

You’ll work closely with the SVP of Enterprise Partners to identify opportunities and broader enhancements in the segment that will allow LPL to execute on its vision of being seen by the industry as the go to solutions partner and provider for large, complex, enterprise entities.

What will you do as the Vice President, Strategic Accounts?

  • Responsible for charting the course with each of your LE relationships – defining the overall account strategy and growth plan.
  • Engage directly with the top executives at each account.  Leading multiple consulting engagements simultaneously, building trusted partnerships with the executives at some of LPLs largest and most complex advisor relationships.
  • Identify gaps and opportunities for each of your firms, balancing your client’s agenda with LPL’s business priorities, creating a road map that allows us to move the relationship forward and move up the buy / sell hierarchy.
  • Build strong relationships and take a leadership role with your virtual team, collaborating with internal business partners and directly with clients to develop innovative ‘win-win’ solutions.
  • Drive growth, retention and client satisfaction through proactive account management and client engagement strategies.  Collect actionable data and insights that can be leveraged to enhance your LE relationship and the overall segment.
  • Proactively host quarterly business reviews and other structured engagement strategies with all of your firms.  Keeping leadership apprised of opportunities, risks and the state of the union with each firm.
  • Create transparency and accountability with your clients through development of shared business priorities - assign ownership both internally and externally, hold partners accountable.
  • Partner with your SVP to identify broader enhancements for the segment and help translate opportunities and risks into actionable business requirements.
  • Act at Subject Matter Expert (SME), sharing client point of view and insights.  Assisting with efforts to optimize the client experience and to aid in client retention efforts within the broader segment.

What are we looking for?

We want a business consultant with a deep subject matter expertise of large network advisor relationships. You will have a proven track record in strategic consulting, program management, complex negotiations, relationship management and client engagement.  You will be comfortable with building and managing relationships at the executive level.

You have a unique ability to understand the various needs of these clients, their different interested parties, and the ecosystem that they require for outstanding support. We are looking for someone with strong consulting, relationship management, critical thinking and analytical skills who roll up their sleeves to solve complex problems.  You have a proven track record for leading virtual teams in the management and support of these clients.

What skills and experiences are advantageous?

  • Minimum 8-10 years of extensive experience working in the independent wealth management industry, ideally with a high level of proficiency in the large enterprise space at the executive level.
  • Minimum 5 years of consulting experience coordinating multiple, time sensitive client engagement projects simultaneously.
  • Enjoy taking ownership of client initiatives – idea generation, innovation, creative problem solving and continual optimization, exceeding client and management expectations.
  • Adept at building and leading strong cross-functional teams in a virtual environment.  Possess superb organizational, collaborative, communication and presentations skills.
  • Entrepreneurial, self-starter with proven ability to develop strong relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Familiarity with the unique business considerations for large enterprises and how they differ from other advisor businesses, including regulatory compliance, technology and service experience.
  • Superior analytical skills with an ability to identify relevant data, evaluate client opportunities within the context of larger segment and present findings in a clear and actionable manner
  • Desire to be part of a team and an ability to succeed within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, grounded in tangible results.
  • Team-player with a positive can-do attitude, with an ability to both contribute as an individual and develop a motivated, high performing virtual team of employees.
  • Strong familiarity with the MS Office suite and Salesforce.
  • Ability to travel as needed (approx. 25-30% of time post COVID).
  • The preferred candidate will be local to an LPL corporate office.
