Reporting to the SVP, Employment Brand Management the VP Compensation will operate in a matrix environment providing overall strategic and operational leadership in the design, improvement, and deployment of compensation systems and practices at LPL. This role would work to centralize and modernize enterprise compensation practices in order to facilitate the attraction and retention of best talent in an ever-evolving competitive marketplace. The ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and lead critical thinking sessions across the enterprise is essential in building a progressive compensation practice. Preferred are candidates with financial services industry experience.
Lead Compensation team including but not limited to hiring, development, retention and engagement of a highly talented compensation employees
Serve as the principal responsible and accountable owner of planning, administration and implementation of corporate compensation practices
Lead the annual merit and bonus cycles from end-to-end including project management, design, testing, communication, training and support of partners
Select and conduct the annual labor market survey submissions and annual benchmarking process to ensure LPL maintains competitive pay practices
Ensure compensation practices are scalable, sustainable, and timely
Create repeatable processes that ensure delivery of current market data to inform pay decisions
Model compensation data, develop reports and key metrics to support our pay for performance culture
Partner with Executive Compensation lead in ensuring all compensation structures (base pay, bonus, long term incentive) are competitive and adhere to standard compensation practice
Research and benchmark market data for sales compensation programs to evaluate the competitiveness of sales compensation plans
Collaborate with Development and Corporate Communication teams to train employees and managers on LPL’s compensation philosophy and practices
Develop effective and clear communications regarding compensation programs and processes.
Ensure operational oversight of incentive sales programs including separation of duties (e.g.; design, incentive payment calculations, audit, reporting, administration, etc.)
Partner with internal risk department to evaluate and report on any potential risks with LPL’s all compensation plans.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and progressive work experience in HR Compensation required
Minimum of 8 years of advanced professional experience in compensation administration required of which 3 years leading a compensation team/function
Ability to effectively interface with all levels of the organization.

Ability to work efficiently as a team
Strong attention to detail
Continuous improvement mindset
Program and Time management skills
Sensitivity in working with confidential information
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification preferred (attained or making progress towards achieving)
