LPL Financial is looking for a highly creative individual to spearhead our efforts in Sales training for our Business Development group. As the VP Sales Trainer, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and facilitating sales training courses and offerings that build skills and capabilities that drive business results.
The ideal candidate will be able to design sales training courses, formulate teaching outlines and determine instructional methods such as individual training, instructor led group instruction, virtual training, workshops, lectures, demonstrations meetings, simulations, and e-learning. This position will require up to 50% of travel.
What You Will Do:
Design, implement and manage educational programs for our sales team using industry best practices, continuously develop new approaches and techniques
Work closely with sales team to identify the challenges they face on-the-job and create tools and materials to increase productivity
Create a best in class onboarding experience for new sales team members
Closely monitor the team’s progress to goals, identify any skills gaps and customize training materials to meet the needs of the individual or team
Evaluate sales team performance to ensure incorporation of taught techniques
Collect feedback from sales team on training effectiveness
Report out to senior leadership on impact of the training programs
Accomplishes the organization’s mission by completing related tasks as needed

What skills, experiences and/or education is required?
Bachelor’s degree required
7+ years of experience in instructional development, adult learning theory, and/or sales training
Hands on-experience in a sales position is a plus
Experience in the financial services industry preferred
Experience using Microsoft Office as well as e-learning software
Excellent communication and storytelling skills
Must have a high level of self-awareness and ability to read the audience and adapt style as needed
Ability to build rapport quickly with internal sales team through understanding the individual and team’s unique needs
