Job Overview:

Does the idea of designing and implementing exceptional, modern web applications with leading edge technologies in a startup lab excite you?  As part of the Strategy and New Ventures group, your focus will be the development of data-driven software solutions that make a difference and advance FinTech.

Through leadership of both Technology and Business Owners, you will leverage your experience and technical prowess to bridge requirements and the needs of users and underlying technologies through Agile planning, validation, and implementation of optimal, intuitive, extensible, and scalable solutions that delight and excel within their technology ecosystem.

Responsibilities:

As in any early-stage startup, the Full Stack Software Engineering position will wear many hats: from documenting needs, demonstrating technical approaches and methodologies, collecting and measuring performance data and feedback, tracking requirements, and directly crafting and implementing technical solutions:

  • Design, develop, test, and implement advanced n-tier data-driven web-based applications

  • Build, debug, optimize and improve new and existing web applications and systems

  • Lead conceptual development sessions, including whiteboarding, the creation of system visualizations, and level of effort estimations

  • Develop potential solutions according to modern standards and present during code reviews

  • Communicate regularly with technical and non-technical groups to provide solution support

  • Evaluate new development proposals, investigate and recommend solutions, and process improvements to deliver solutions that perform well and scale

  • Assist management in the technical assessment of risks and issues

  • Support the creation and maintenance of technical documentation

What are we looking for?

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience with hands-on C#/.NET and enterprise Java development

  • 4+ years of experience with conventional and modern datastores (i.e. Relational, NoSQL, etc.)

  • 3+ years of experience with HTML5, JavaScript, CSS

  • Advanced knowledge of and experience with object-oriented principles and design patterns

Core Competencies:

  • Experience with DevOps, including source control, release management, and continuous integration and delivery

  • Experience using a cloud hosting provider (e.g. AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)

  • Experience instrumenting unit tests and a test-driven development methodology

  • Experience contributing and operating within an Agile team

Preferences:

  • Candidates are expected to anticipate user and system needs and continuously consider and advocate for usability and measurable performance improvements to increase value as solutions and technologies evolve.

  • Experience with service-oriented and microservice architectures

  • Knowledge of queue and event-driven system design

  • Experience with Angular, React, and other major web frameworks

  • Detail-oriented and capable of delivering at a high level of accuracy

  • Good interpersonal and consultative skills
