LPL is seeking a Senior Vice President, Head of Macro Strategy to join its Investment Research department. The Head of Macro Strategy will work in conjunction with LPL Research’s model portfolio management organization, the quantitative team, manager research, and the firm’s team of macro thought leaders in seeking leading investment outcomes and in the delivery of high quality investment communication. He or she will also be an ambassador for the broader work of the department and contribute to the communication of the firm’s investment views via conference calls, webinars, and at LPL events. The Head of Macro Strategy will also be a key member to LPL’s Strategic and Tactical Asset Allocation Committee.
This role will report directly to the firm’s Chief Investment Officer and work closely with multiple key members of firm leadership, marketing, advisor consulting, and public relations teams to help drive capital market guidance on behalf of the firm and its 22,000+ financial advisors.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the formulation of macro-economic and investment scenarios, themes, and risks as it relates to the ongoing development of the firm’s view on capital markets.
- Become entrenched as a key thought leader and a leading representative of the Research department.
- Strengthen the department’s investment acumen, LPL Research’s advice franchise and work cross-organizationally to further establish the department as a leading source of investment intellectual capital will be hallmarks in establishing early success in the role.
- Lead in the support and representation of the firm’s investment process and views in order to enhance brand awareness and penetration across all internal and external channels.
Requirements:
- 15+ years of notable experience as a leading strategist/portfolio manager.
- Demonstrated capability to communicate strategy views to all levels of an organization, advisor and client audiences, and the public.
- A current or previous leader of all or segments of an investment organization, including direct people-leader responsibilities.
- Ability to drive an investment research franchise including the prioritization and management of simultaneous strategic initiatives while demonstrating supreme accountability.
- Proficient in the utilization of analytical software and data sets such as Bloomberg, FactSet.
- Focused team-player with the ability to collaborate across a large organization and to meet the needs of various financial advisory practices.
- An applicable university degree; with an advanced degree and/or CFA designation preferred.
- Series 7 and Series 66 or Series 65 preferred; or willingness to obtain.
Pay Range:
$212,480-$318,720/year
The salary range is dependent on a number of factors, including the applicant’s skill, experience, and work location.
